A small disc, a braided cable and one clear promise: faster Qi2 charging from Samsung. Images surfaced by SamMobile reveal the company’s upcoming Magnet Wireless Charger (model EP-P2900BBEGWW), and for anyone tired of tepid wireless speeds, this one looks intent on changing expectations.
The puck supports the Qi2 wireless standard and is rated up to 25W — likely the Qi2.2 trim finalized by the Wireless Power Consortium. Translation: this isn’t the same old 15W offering we saw with the Galaxy S25 lineup. It’s a meaningful step up on paper. Short story: faster top-ups, assuming the rest of the chain cooperates.
The accessory itself is straightforward. A round charging puck joins a braided USB-C cable, and Samsung appears to be shipping it in a single black finish. The retail box is explicit about one key requirement: to reach the full 25W speed you’ll need a 45W Samsung power adapter or any compatible 45W PPS (20V) adapter. No adapter, no peak power.
There’s another caveat you’ll want to know: magnetic alignment matters. The charger depends on the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP) within Qi2, so you’ll need a Qi2-ready case with MPP alignment so the magnets line up and the handshake works. In other words, this isn’t a universal fast-charger for every phone out of the box — it’s built for phones and cases that speak the same magnetic language.
Samsung’s packaging also calls out compatibility with the Galaxy S25 series and later phones when paired with a magnetic case. Expect it to behave with other Qi2 and MagSafe-style devices too — think iPhone 12 and newer, Pixel 10 and newer, and devices like HMD Skyline that adopt the standard. Real-world speeds will still depend on device limits and case thickness, but the potential for 25W wireless is now on the table.
This isn’t Samsung’s only Qi2 play. Recent leaks showed a Qi2 power bank from the company that appears capable of 15W wireless top-ups and up to 20W when using a compatible USB-C cable. Taken together, Samsung seems to be building a small ecosystem of Qi2 accessories rather than a one-off charger, which hints at a broader push toward faster, magnet-aligned wireless charging across its devices.
Will the Galaxy S26 family ship with full 25W wireless support out of the box? Likely the Ultra model will lead the charge, but the full picture will depend on case compatibility and whether Samsung makes the necessary adapters part of the package. Either way, the leak makes one thing clear: wireless charging is finally getting more ambitious.
