Dodge's Green Hornet is back — but this time even rarer
Dodge has revived the Green Hornet nameplate for the Mexican market, this time as a limited-edition, sportier take on the Attitude compact sedan. Unlike the Charger and Challenger that define Dodge in other regions, in Mexico the brand competes in the affordable-sedan segment with rebadged models. The new Green Hornet is a rebadged Chinese GAC Empo and retails for roughly 463,900 MXN (about $27,000).
What makes the Green Hornet special?
Only 150 units will be produced in this second run, down from 300 units in last year’s release. The reduced production bolsters exclusivity and positions the Green Hornet as a collectible-ish compact for buyers who want aggressive styling without a muscle-car budget.

- Matte stealth green paint and blacked-out trim
- Black grille with matte accents and 18-inch matte-black aluminum wheels
- Fixed rear spoiler, race-inspired diffuser and quad exhaust tips (primarily cosmetic)
"The Green Hornet dresses the compact Attitude in a much more aggressive suit, but it keeps the same mechanicals beneath the skin," a local dealer explained.
Design vs. Reality
The styling is deliberately dramatic: matte green bodywork, contrasting black elements and sporty rear treatment create an eye-catching package. However, the quad exhaust outlets are largely decorative and the car’s transformation is mostly visual. That contrast between theatrical looks and modest mechanical upgrades is central to the Green Hornet's appeal — it gives buyers the thrill of sportiness without the high performance costs.

Powertrain and performance
Under the hood sits the familiar 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 168 hp and 270 Nm of torque. Power goes to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Dodge quotes a 0–100 km/h time of 6.95 seconds, a respectable figure for this class and more than adequate for everyday driving.
Market positioning and context
Dodge in Mexico has historically offered the Attitude — itself a rebadged Hyundai Accent/Mirage in earlier generations — as an entry-level sedan. With the fourth-generation Attitude launched in mid-2024, the partnership with GAC Empo signals Dodge’s strategy of badge engineering to quickly expand its local lineup. The Green Hornet demonstrates how limited editions and sporty trims can drive interest and justify a premium in a crowded compact-sedan market.

Key highlights:
- Limited to 150 units for increased exclusivity
- Visual-focused sport package over unchanged mechanicals
- Price reduction from last year makes it more accessible
For enthusiasts who want attention-grabbing looks and a compact turbocharged drivetrain without stepping into true performance territory, the Green Hornet is a compelling, quirky option in Mexico’s market.
