Realme's 16 Pro has traveled from India to Europe with a curious mix of compromises and upgrades. The headline change? Europe gets a smaller battery and slower charging, but a more generous software promise. Strange trade-off. Expected. Unexpected.
Why shrink the battery? The European model ships with a 6,500 mAh typical cell (rated at about 6,345 mAh) versus the Indian unit's 7,000 mAh (6,830 mAh rated). Charging speeds take a hit too: 45W fast charging in Europe, against 80W Ultra Charge in the Indian SKU. In real-world use that may translate to slightly shorter endurance and longer top-ups — a practical annoyance for power users who value speed.
Other differences are more nuanced. Europe only gets 8GB of RAM paired with 256GB or 512GB storage, while India also sold a 12GB/256GB version and additional mid-tier options. On the connectivity front, the European variant supports NFC and eSIM — features missing from the Indian release. And yes, the European box omits the charger; you’ll find only the cable listed, whereas the Indian package includes a power brick.

- Battery: Europe 6,500 mAh (typ.), India 7,000 mAh (typ.)
- Charging: Europe 45W, India 80W
- Memory: Europe 8GB (256/512GB), India up to 12GB/256GB
- Extras: NFC and eSIM supported in Europe, not in India
- In‑box charger: excluded in Europe, included in India
- Software support: Europe 5 major OS updates + 6 years security, India 3 OS updates + 4 years security
Not everything changed. The display remains a 6.78-inch AMOLED with a 144Hz refresh rate and a wildly bright 6,500-nit peak. Under the hood you still get the Dimensity 7300 Max, and the camera hardware is untouched — a 200MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 50MP front shooter.
The software upgrade promise is the real curveball. European buyers are being offered a longer support window: five major Android updates and six years of security patches versus India’s shorter three-plus-four schedule. For many shoppers that will outweigh the battery downgrade, especially if they plan to keep a phone for several years.
So which matters more to you — raw battery life and blistering 80W charging, or a longer lifecycle backed by OS updates and security patches? The hardware is familiar. The priorities are different. Your choice will tell you which matters.
