The jump to 5TB changes the equation overnight. It is not just about AI workflows either. And Google did not stop at storage.
AI that actually feels useful
Gemini, the centerpiece of the plan, is becoming less of a standalone tool and more of a silent assistant woven into everything. It now pulls context directly from Gmail and the web while you work inside Docs, Sheets, or Slides. That means fewer tabs, fewer copy-paste moments, and less friction overall.
Email, in particular, gets a noticeable boost. Gemini can summarize crowded inboxes and clean up drafts before you hit send. Not flashy. Just practical. The kind of feature you start relying on without thinking twice.
Then there is Chrome. Google is leaning into what it calls agentic browsing. In simple terms, the browser starts doing tasks for you. Planning a trip, filling out repetitive forms, handling those small but time-consuming chores that usually eat up your afternoon. It is automation with a bit more initiative.
A bonus that used to cost extra
There is also a quieter addition that might matter just as much. Google has folded its Home Premium subscription into AI Pro. On its own, that service runs about $10 a month. Now it is part of the package.
For existing subscribers, the upgrades are rolling out automatically. New users get everything from day one. If the changes have not appeared in your account yet, they are on the way. And no, despite the timing, this is not a prank.
