Xiaomi’s New Smart Dehumidifier Goes Global

3 Minutes

Xiaomi has quietly slipped a new smart home device onto its global website, and it looks ready to do one very specific job better than most: pull a serious amount of moisture out of the air. The Xiaomi Smart Dehumidifier is now listed internationally, a strong hint that a wider launch may not be far behind.

On paper, the numbers are the real headline. Xiaomi says the unit can remove up to 22 liters of moisture per day, which puts it squarely in the territory of larger rooms and more demanding household setups. Bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry corners, even indoor clothes drying on damp days. This is the kind of appliance that earns its keep quietly.

It also ships with a 4.5-liter water tank, enough for roughly eight hours of operation before it needs to be emptied. If that sounds a little hands-on, Xiaomi has a simpler answer: attach a drain pipe and let it run continuously. That detail will matter to anyone who wants to set it and forget it.

Built for real-life use, not showroom talk

Xiaomi has kept the operating modes refreshingly straightforward. Smart mode adjusts dehumidification automatically based on room humidity, Dry mode is there for faster moisture removal, and Sleep mode lowers noise to around 35.5 dB. In practical terms, that makes it a more realistic overnight companion than many louder units in the same category.

There is also a small onboard display showing real-time humidity, along with physical controls on the device itself. For those who prefer everything in an app, the Xiaomi Home platform is supported too. And yes, it works with Google Assistant and Alexa, which has become the expected smart-home baseline, but still adds welcome convenience.

Visually, it sticks to Xiaomi’s familiar formula: clean white surfaces, minimal fuss, and a design that blends in rather than shouts for attention. It is not exactly compact, but the built-in wheels should make it easy enough to roll from one room to another without much effort.

Xiaomi has not revealed pricing or an exact release date yet. Even so, its placement above the Smart Dehumidifier Lite suggests this model is aiming for a more capable, more premium spot in the lineup. If the company keeps the final price competitive, it could end up being one of the more appealing smart dehumidifier options for buyers outside China.
