Xiaomi 17T Leak Points to Bigger Batteries, Higher Prices

Xiaomi’s next T-series phones are starting to look less like bargain disruptors and more like full-blooded premium contenders. A fresh leak has spilled what it claims are the complete specifications and European pricing for the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro, and if the details hold up, buyers may need to reset their expectations before launch day.

The Xiaomi 17T has already surfaced through certification in Brazil and appeared in the Geekbench database, so this latest leak does not arrive out of nowhere. It fills in the blanks, though. Screen, chipset, cameras, battery, charging, colors, storage options, even dimensions. Pretty much the whole shopping list.

According to the information now circulating, the standard Xiaomi 17T will feature a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 1268 x 2756 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Power is said to come from MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset, paired with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and either 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage. That is a serious memory and storage setup for a non-Pro model, especially if Xiaomi is aiming to keep performance smooth across gaming, camera processing, and heavy multitasking.

The battery is where things get especially interesting. The regular 17T is tipped to pack a 6,500 mAh cell with 67 W wired fast charging. That is larger than what many flagship phones currently offer, and it suggests Xiaomi may be trying to make endurance one of the headline selling points this year.

The Pro model is chasing flagship territory

The Xiaomi 17T Pro, as expected, looks bigger and more aggressive. The leak points to a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a 1280 x 2772 resolution and a faster 144 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it reportedly uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, backed by 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

Then comes the battery: 7,000 mAh. That is huge for a mainstream premium smartphone, and it would be paired with 100 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging. If accurate, Xiaomi is not just trying to win the spec sheet. It is trying to make battery anxiety feel outdated.

The camera systems on the two phones appear similar at first glance, but there is one meaningful difference. The Xiaomi 17T is said to use a triple rear camera setup led by a 50 MP main camera with the Light Fusion 800 sensor and an f/1.77 aperture. It is joined by a 50 MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and an f/1.8 aperture, plus a 12 MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture. A 32 MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro keeps the same basic formula but upgrades the main sensor to a 50 MP Light Fusion 950 unit with an f/1.74 aperture. The 50 MP 5x telephoto, 12 MP ultrawide, and 32 MP selfie camera are reportedly unchanged. In other words, the Pro’s real camera advantage may come down to better main-camera performance, particularly in low light, dynamic range, and image processing.

Both phones are expected to ship with Android 16 running Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 interface. The color palette is also said to be shared across both models: blue, black, and purple. The standard Xiaomi 17T is listed at 157.6 x 75.2 x 8.17 mm and exactly 200 g, while the 17T Pro is larger and heavier at 162.2 x 77.5 x 8.25 mm and 219 g.

And then there is the price. The Xiaomi 17T with 256 GB of storage is rumored to cost €749 in Europe. The Xiaomi 17T Pro is said to land at €999. That is the part that may raise eyebrows among longtime fans of the T series.

For years, Xiaomi’s T lineup carried a particular promise: near-flagship hardware without the painful flagship price. These leaked figures suggest that formula is changing. If the numbers are correct, both the 17T and 17T Pro would be €100 more expensive than the Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro were at launch last year. The Pro model, in particular, is stepping confidently into premium high-end territory, where competition becomes brutal and buyers scrutinize every compromise.

That does not automatically make the phones overpriced. A larger battery, faster charging, high-refresh AMOLED displays, top-tier MediaTek silicon, 5x optical zoom, and Android 16 out of the box could make a compelling package. But at €999, the Xiaomi 17T Pro would no longer be judged as a clever alternative to flagships. It would be judged as one.

The official reveal may not be far away. Earlier rumors have suggested that the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro could launch as soon as next month. Until Xiaomi confirms the details, the usual caution applies. Specs can shift. Prices can vary by region. Leaks can be wrong. Still, this one paints a clear picture: Xiaomi’s T series is growing up, and it may be leaving its old bargain-hunter identity behind.

“I love exploring gadgets, apps, and trends that redefine how we connect, work, and play in a digital world.”

Wait €999 for a T series? 7,000mAh sounds insane but is the price hike real or just a leak...?
