Samsung’s next budget friendly phone is starting to come into focus, and this time the clue comes wrapped in plastic. Fresh renders showing the upcoming Galaxy A27 inside third party cases have surfaced online, offering another look at a phone that is clearly borrowing its style from the rest of Samsung’s 2025 A series lineup.
That is not exactly a surprise. The Galaxy A27 appears to follow the same visual formula as the already announced Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37, right down to the oval camera module on the rear. The LED flash also sits outside the camera island in the now familiar Samsung arrangement, giving the device a clean, consistent look that ties it to the broader family.
What stands out more is the front. If these latest images are accurate, Samsung may finally be dropping the dated V shaped notch used on the Galaxy A26 in favor of a punch hole selfie camera. It is a small change on paper, but visually it makes a real difference. For a lower priced handset, that shift alone could make the Galaxy A27 feel much more current.
A small design shift that matters
Samsung has already teased the Galaxy A27 earlier this month, so the phone’s arrival is no longer in doubt. These new case renders simply add another layer to what we already knew from earlier CAD based leaks that surfaced around a month ago. Put together, they paint the picture of a device that is not trying to reinvent the category, but is clearly being polished in the areas users notice first.
There is also a hint that Samsung could be improving the selfie camera, though full details are still under wraps. That would make sense. Front camera quality has become a bigger talking point even in the affordable segment, especially for buyers who spend more time on video calls, social apps, and short form content.
On the inside, a Geekbench listing from April suggests the Galaxy A27 will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, paired with 6GB of RAM. That combination should place it comfortably in the mid range entry tier, with enough power for everyday multitasking, streaming, messaging, and casual gaming without much drama.
The same benchmark points to Android 16 out of the box, which could give the phone an edge at launch if Samsung bundles it with the company’s latest software features and long term update support. That matters more than ever in this part of the market, where buyers increasingly expect affordable phones to stay useful for years, not months.
There is still no official launch date, but the leaks are becoming too frequent to ignore. When case makers start showing their hand, it usually means the finish line is not far away. And if Samsung gets the price, software support, and design upgrades right, the Galaxy A27 could end up being one of those quiet sellers that punches above its weight.
