HyperOS 4 and Android 17: Which Xiaomi Phones Qualify?

3 Minutes

Picture this: you wake your phone and the interface looks subtly different, colors a touch richer, gestures smoother, the camera app behaving like it learned new tricks overnight. That is the promise murmured around HyperOS 4, Xiaomi's next skin built on Android 17 — and the question on many owners' minds is simple: will my device get it?

Xiaomi has not published an official compatibility list. So we went through update policies, firmware histories, and early leaks to build a practical, cautious roster of handsets that are most likely to receive the Android 17-based HyperOS 4 when the rollout begins.

Devices most likely to receive HyperOS 4

Xiaomi flagship lineup: Xiaomi 17, 17 Ultra, 17T, 17T Pro, 15, 15 Pro, 15 Ultra, 15T, 15T Pro, 14, 14 Pro, 14 Ultra, 14T, 14T Pro, 14 Civi, 13T and 13T Pro, plus the Mix Flip.

Redmi Note and number series: Redmi Note 15, Note 15 4G, Note 15 Pro, Note 15 Pro 4G, Note 15 Pro Plus, Note 15 Special, Note 14 4G, Note 14 Pro, Note 14 Pro Plus, Note 14S. Turbo and number models include Redmi Turbo 5, Redmi 15, Redmi 15 4G, Redmi 15C, Redmi 15C 4G, Redmi 15A. The budget and A-series candidates: Redmi A7, A7 Pro, A7 Pro 4G, Redmi A5. Tablets: Redmi Pad 2, Pad 2 Pro, Pad 2 9.7.

POCO selection: F series — POCO F8 Pro, F8 Ultra, F7, F7 Pro, F7 Ultra, F6, F6 Pro. X and midrange models include POCO X8 Pro, X8 Pro Max, X7, X7 Pro, X6 Pro. M and C series likely covered are POCO M8, M8s, M8 Pro, M7 4G, M7 Plus, and POCO C85, C85 4G, C85x, C81, C81 Pro, C81x, C71. Tablets listed are POCO Pad X1, Pad M1, Pad C1.

If your device appears above, it stands a strong chance of receiving HyperOS 4 when Xiaomi starts the official rollout later this year. Remember: this is an informed, unofficial list. We excluded devices where the update status was unclear.

There is a wrinkle. Xiaomi has previously shipped a major HyperOS build on an older Android base — HyperOS 3.0 reached some phones still on Android 15. That means even models that do not get Android 17 could, in theory, receive a HyperOS 4 release, albeit with some features missing compared to full Android 17 builds.

Timing is straightforward in rumor and reports: expect HyperOS 4 to be announced in July or August, with wider rollouts to older models stretching into October 2026. Will there be regional differences? Almost certainly. Carrier approvals and local testing always slow things down.

Not seeing your phone on the list? Don’t panic. Xiaomi often updates its plans as factory and software priorities shift. We will refresh this roster when Xiaomi posts an official roadmap or starts seeding factory images. Keep your update log and backup ready.

If that's real then neat, but older phones prob get watered down features. Feels overhyped tbh, wait for hands-on or official roadmap.

Sounds hopeful but Xiaomi never lists things clearly. Is this even true? Timing's vague, regional delays likely, and they love surprise changes... I'll wait for factory images.
