Imagine a station wagon that sneaks past SUV fans at a dinner party and then quietly outperforms them on the twisty back roads. That’s the idea behind Audi’s revived A6 Allroad for 2027: a raised, ruggedized Avant that refuses to trade driving finesse for height and presence.
Small lift, big difference
Compared with the standard A6 Avant, the Allroad sits 34 mm higher, thanks to a bespoke adaptive air suspension with a 55 mm adjustment window. The result is a cabin that feels composed whether you’re navigating a muddy farm lane or darting between city lanes. Audi also widened the body by 111 mm and fitted broader axles to accept up to 21-inch wheels wrapped in 285/35 rubber; 19-inch wheels with 265/45 tires come standard, with 20-inch 275/40s offered as an intermediate option.

Steering is smarter too. All-wheel steering improves low-speed maneuverability and high-speed stability, so the Allroad turns more like a driver's car than a raised estate. Grip and poise are the priorities here — not off-road theatrics.
There’s a PHEV twist in this generation. For the first time the Allroad arrives as a plug-in hybrid, pairing a 2.0-liter TFSI gasoline engine, rated at 248 hp, with an electric motor putting out 141 hp. The combined output is 362 hp with 500 Nm of torque, letting the Allroad sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in about 5.5 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

Battery capacity stands at 25.9 kWh gross (20.7 kWh usable). Audi says the pack supports up to 11 kW AC charging and will refill in roughly two and a half hours, delivering about 95 km of electric range on the WLTP cycle. Drivers can switch between pure EV and hybrid operation depending on the trip.

For buyers who still prefer diesel, Audi carries forward a 3.0-liter V6 TDI with mild-hybrid support. That unit makes 295 hp and 580 Nm, and performs almost neck-and-neck with the PHEV in the sprint department, hitting 100 km/h in about 5.4 seconds while sharing the same 250 km/h top speed limiter.

Inside, the Allroad mirrors the rest of the C9 A6 family with a digital 11.9-inch instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch central touchscreen. Audi offers a 10.9-inch passenger display as an option. Expect the same blend of tactile controls and capacitive surfaces, ambient lighting, an advanced voice assistant with generative AI integration, and the suite of driver aids that define premium segment expectations.

So who is this car for? If you like the composure and cargo practicality of an Avant but want a bit more ground clearance and rugged looks without the bulk of an SUV, the A6 Allroad fits neatly into that niche. Audi hasn’t revealed pricing yet, but the package — raised stance, plug-in powertrain, and diesel alternative — positions the Allroad as a sensible, driven alternative to crossovers.
