Samsung is rolling Google's Gemini AI into its top-tier Bespoke refrigerators, promising smarter food recognition, recipe suggestions, and expanded wine management — all from the fridge door.
What Gemini brings to the kitchen
Samsung's newest Bespoke AI lineup — including the Bespoke AI Hybrid models with 9-inch AI Home screens, the Bespoke AI Family Hub, and the Infinite AI Wine Refrigerator — pairs the company's existing Bixby assistant with Google's Gemini. Earlier models relied on Bixby to identify roughly 37 fresh items and 50 packaged foods; Gemini widens that recognition pool and brings more advanced natural-language understanding to the fridge.
Each unit uses a built-in camera to read store-bought labels and even handwritten notes on containers, then automatically adds those items to your grocery list. The new AI Food Manager logs what’s inside, flags items that are about to expire, suggests recipes you can make with on-hand ingredients, and helps plan grocery trips based on current stock.
- Expanded food-identification beyond Bixby's limits
- Label and handwriting recognition that updates shopping lists
- Recipe recommendations and expiration alerts via AI Food Manager
- AI Wine Manager for cataloging and locating wine bottles

The AI Wine Manager extends Gemini's capabilities to Samsung's Wine Cellar and Wine Cooler products. It captures detailed wine data — name, classification, variety and vintage — and helps users track where a specific bottle is stored and when it should be consumed or cellared further.
Moon Jong-seung, vice president of Samsung's Device Appliance division, said the collaboration builds on the company's 'AI Vision' work and that teaming up with Google will deliver a more differentiated food experience powered by evolved AI.
Samsung plans to expand Gemini across its premium fridge range, letting users choose between Bixby, Gemini or a mix of both. The combination of computer vision and conversational AI aims to make meal planning, shopping and wine management noticeably easier for modern kitchens.
