XPeng doubles down on global expansion with the 2026 P7+

XPeng has announced a major international push for the 2026 P7+, planning launches across 36 countries. The refreshed flagship arrives with 104 improvements and a cleaner design, while introducing two distinct powertrain options: a pure battery-electric variant and a new Extended Range EV (EREV) that pairs a compact gasoline generator with the battery for significantly extended travel.

Top-line range and charging claims

The headline figure is the EREV’s claimed electric-only range of up to 430 km, while the combined battery-plus-range-extender setup reportedly achieves an astonishing 1,550 km between refills and recharges. That positions the P7+ EREV as one of the longest-range luxury sedans in mixed-use operation.

Meanwhile, the pure-electric P7+ models benefit from an 800V electrical architecture for high-speed charging. XPeng says the top-spec car supports 5C charging, allowing a 30–80% charge in about 12 minutes; other trims reach the same level in roughly 20 minutes. Fast charging and high-voltage systems are central to the P7+’s appeal for buyers who value both long distance and quick turnaround times.

Dimensions, aero and practicality

This is a large, family-friendly sedan: 5.07 m long, 1.93 m wide and 1.51 m tall, with a 3.00 m wheelbase. The updated model is 15 mm longer than the previous electric version and tips the scales at around 2,160 kg. Aerodynamics matter at this size — XPeng quotes a low drag coefficient of 0.206 Cd, which helps deliver quieter cabin performance and better efficiency at highway speeds.

Cargo space is generous and versatile, with luggage capacity expanding from 725 liters up to 2,221 liters when seats are folded — a practical detail for families and long-distance drivers.

Powertrain and performance

The EREV uses a 1.5-liter engine as a range-extending generator producing about 110 kW (around 148 hp). The driving force comes from an electric motor rated at 180 kW, and the lineup is rear-wheel drive across the board. Buyers can choose battery packs of 60.7 kWh, 74.9 kWh or 76.3 kWh, giving WLTP-like real-world ranges claimed between roughly 615 km and 725 km on full battery-only operation depending on specification. Top speed is limited to 200 km/h.

Highlights:

  • Global rollout to 36 countries
  • 104 updates including styling and tech
  • EREV mode: up to 1,550 km combined range
  • 800V electrical system with 5C fast charging on top trim

Market positioning and pricing

The P7+ has already proven popular: over 88,000 units sold since launch and a full year as a category best-seller. Current pricing in China ranges from RMB 186,800 to RMB 208,800 — roughly €22,300 to €25,400 — offering competitive value versus traditional premium sedans and newer EV rivals.

Quote: “The P7+ is designed to bridge the gap between long-distance usability and electric efficiency,” says XPeng in its launch brief — a claim backed by the new EREV option and the focus on ultra-fast charging.

With the 2026 P7+, XPeng aims to compete more aggressively on the world stage, targeting drivers who want sedan comfort, long range and fast charging without compromising practicality. For buyers weighing EVs against hybrids and ICE rivals, the P7+ introduces a compelling combination of tech, space and real-world range.

Pretty smart move, global push makes sense. EREV combo could win over roadtrippers, 800V charging is kinda killer. Price looks unreal for what you get

1,550 km combined range?? And 5C charging: 30-80% in 12 mins? Sounds too good. Until real world tests I'm skeptical. Cargo looks legit tho
