Redmi's next Turbo series is shaping up to be a performance and battery powerhouse, if recent leaks prove accurate. The Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Pro could arrive with new Dimensity chips, huge batteries and premium hardware.
What the leaks reveal
According to a Weibo tipster, the standard Turbo 5 will likely use MediaTek's Dimensity 8500, while the Turbo 5 Pro may ship with the higher-end Dimensity 9500e. Neither chipset is official yet, but both are expected to debut very soon. For context, the Turbo 4 lineup used the Dimensity 8400 and the Turbo 4 Pro featured Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.
The Dimensity 8500 is tipped to be built on TSMC's 4nm process with peak clocks around 3.4GHz. The 9500e reportedly moves to an advanced 3nm node, targets a higher peak near 3.73GHz and brings an upgraded GPU — a combination that should improve sustained gaming and multitasking performance.
