Xreal has unveiled the Xreal 1S, a refined version of its portable AR glasses that boosts display quality, adds modular camera support and cuts the price — all while promising instant 2D-to-3D conversion without extra apps. The new model will be showcased at CES 2026 and is available for purchase today.
What’s changed in the Xreal 1S?
At first glance the Xreal 1S looks familiar, but most upgrades are under the hood. The panel resolution jumps from 1080p to 1200p and peak brightness rises to 700 nits (up from 600 nits), making HDR content and daylight use more comfortable. Field of view expands slightly from 50° to 52°, and the aspect ratio moves from 16:9 to 16:10 for a bit more vertical screen real estate. Refresh rate remains a smooth 120Hz, and the USB-C port has been beefed up for more reliable video throughput.
One of the headline features is Real 3D, powered by Xreal’s X1 chip. The system can transform regular 2D video into a stereoscopic 3D presentation on the fly — no special players or software required. For creators and viewers who want added camera functionality, the 1S supports a detachable modular camera, expanding use cases from gaming and movies to light AR capture.

Importantly, Xreal positions these glasses as wearable displays rather than social AI devices. Unlike camera-first smart glasses such as Ray-Ban Meta, the 1S focuses on delivering a private, large virtual screen for a laptop or smartphone rather than emphasizing onboard assistants or heavy imaging features.
