At CES 2026 Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Book6 family — a trio of Windows laptops built around Intel's new 18A-node Core Ultra Series 3 silicon. The lineup promises stronger sustained performance, improved cooling and brighter, smoother displays across Pro and Ultra models, while keeping portability in focus.

Models, displays and who they’re for

The series breaks down into three tiers: the entry-level Galaxy Book6, the mid-tier Galaxy Book6 Pro and the top-of-the-line Galaxy Book6 Ultra. The Ultra is offered only in a 16" chassis; the Pro and vanilla models are available in 14" and 16" sizes. If you crave the best panel, the Pro and Ultra use Dynamic AMOLED 2X touchscreens that dynamically scale refresh rates between 30Hz and 120Hz for smoother video and scrolling, and support Gorilla Glass with DXC for reduced reflections and improved scratch resistance.

Expect bright HDR peaks and deep blacks: the panels carry True Bright 1300 and True Black 0.0005 nits certifications, with SDR brightness around 500 nits and HDR peaks up to 1,000 nits. The plain Galaxy Book6 trades the AMOLED for a competent IPS LCD at 350 nits for users who want performance on a budget.

Performance, graphics and memory options

Under the hood the Pro and Ultra can be configured with Intel Core Ultra processors — up to the Core Ultra X9 — built on Intel's 18A node. These chips combine P and E cores (up to 16 total) and an NPU rated at 50 TOPS for AI workloads, with Samsung claiming up to 60% better CPU performance versus the prior generation.

GPU choices are flexible. Laptops with only integrated graphics ship with Intel Arc iGPU; discrete options include NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 or 5070 with 8GB GDDR7 for heavier creative or gaming workloads. RAM ranges from 16GB to 64GB LPDDR5X depending on configuration, and storage options run from 256GB up to 2TB PCIe SSDs with user-expandable slots on most models.

Battery life, charging and portability

Samsung touts up to 30 hours of video playback on Pro and Ultra models — roughly five hours beyond last year's machines. The Galaxy Book6 Ultra packs an 80.20Wh battery with 100W charging (or 140W on Nvidia GPU configurations); the Pro offers 67.18Wh (14") or 78.07Wh (16") cells with 65W USB-C charging. The base Book6 uses a 61.20Wh pack and supports 45W charging.

The design leans thin and light: the 14" Pro measures about 11.6mm and weighs 1.24kg, while the 16" Pro is 11.9mm and 1.59kg. The Ultra is a bit thicker at 15.4mm and roughly 1.79–1.89kg depending on GPU. Opt for the touchscreen and expect a small bump in size and heft.

Cooling, audio and connectivity

To tame the new 18A silicon Samsung revamped the thermal system. Both Pro and Ultra include vapor chambers with extended fin arrays that the company says boost cooling efficiency by 35% versus the previous generation, alongside a larger fan inlet to improve airflow and cut noise. The result should be cooler, quieter sustained performance.

Audio gets an upgrade on the Ultra with a six-speaker system: two up-firing tweeters plus four force-cancelling woofers arranged back-to-back to reduce vibration and distortion, and Dolby Atmos support. The 16" Pro borrows a scaled-down variant; 14" Pro and base models have simpler stereo setups.

Ports are generous on the Pro and Ultra: two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-A, HDMI 2.1 (8K@60Hz, 5K@120Hz), SD card reader and a headset jack. Wireless connectivity includes Wi‑Fi 7 (802.11be 2x2) and Bluetooth 5.4. The entry-level Book6 keeps useful ports too, even adding Ethernet in some SKUs, but tops out at Wi‑Fi 6E.

Samsung will roll out the Galaxy Book6 series to selected markets later this month, with pricing announced at launch. Enterprise Edition models are scheduled for select regions starting in April. Whether you’re a creative professional chasing a brighter, faster OLED experience or a power user who values long battery life, Samsung’s new Book6 range aims to cover the spectrum.

Solid upgrade but feels overhyped, price will decide. Ultra sounds heavy for travel, 1.8kg?? Who's carrying that around daily lol

Whoa, 30 hours battery and a 50 TOPS NPU? Sounds insane. But will it throttle with sustained loads, or is that just marketing fluff... curious.
