2027 Lexus RX Lands in US with Higher Starting Price

The 2027 Lexus RX arrives in the United States this fall with a higher starting price of $55,450 including Delivery, Processing, and Handling. Lexus has raised the base MSRP for the mid-size RX even though the model does not yet carry the widely spied mid-cycle refresh that is expected later in the cycle.

Price, trims and availability

The 2027 RX starts at $55,450 with Delivery, Processing, and Handling (DPH), up from $52,775 for the 2026 model year, a $2,675 increase. Lexus lists no fewer than 16 distinct configurations across front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, and a range of trim levels. Trim designations include Premium, Premium+, Luxury, F Sport Design, F Sport Handling and F Sport Performance. The range-topper is the 2027 RX 500h F Sport Performance AWD, which carries a starting MSRP of $68,950, inclusive of the $1,550 Delivery, Processing, and Handling fee. Lexus says the 2027 model year will reach dealerships this fall.

Exterior and cosmetic updates for 2027 are minimal. One of the few new options is red front and rear brake calipers available on the F Sport Handling and F Sport Performance grades. Lexus describes itself as 'endlessly in demand' as it expands color and trim choices for the RX; exterior finishes include Cloudburst Gray, Iridium, Caviar, Matador Red Mica, Nori Green Pearl, Nightfall Mica, Ultra White, and Incognito (the latter for F Sport models only).

Powertrains, performance and dimensions

The 2027 RX continues to be offered with four powertrain families: the gasoline RX 350, the electrified RX 350h and RX 450h+, and the performance-oriented RX 500h F Sport. The RX 350 uses a turbocharged inline-four gasoline engine rated at 275 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed Direct Shift-8AT; it is available in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations.

The RX 350h is an electrified hybrid and is described as AWD. It pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine with an electric motor for a combined output of 246 hp and 233 lb-ft of torque, and Lexus lists availability with the E-Four system. The RX 450h+ is the plug-in hybrid offering; it uses a 6.6 kW onboard charger, is rated for up to 38 miles of electric range per charge and has a 0-60 mph time of 6.2 seconds according to Lexus' figures.

The RX 500h F Sport Performance AWD combines a gasoline engine with hybrid components for a combined 366 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. It uses a six-speed automatic transmission, an integrated Power Control Unit and a rear-mounted electric motor with an 80 kW eAxle. That model also includes Direct4 all-wheel drive, Adaptive Variable Suspension and Dynamic Rear Steering as part of its equipment set.

Dimensions remain unchanged for 2027. Lexus lists the RX at 192.5 inches in length, with a 112.2-inch wheelbase and front and rear track widths of 65 inches and 66 inches respectively. The RX continues to be built on the Toyota New Global Architecture-K platform, commonly abbreviated as TNGA-K.

Inside, Lexus offers six interior color options—Macadamia, Black, Birch, Palomino, Peppercorn and Rioja Red—alongside four trim finish styles: Black Cascade, Ash Bamboo, Black Open Pore Wood and Dark Graphite Aluminum.
