You open your laptop, flip the lid, and your earbuds are already connected. No tapping, no digging through Bluetooth menus. That’s the quiet promise behind Lenovo’s latest YOGA true wireless earbuds—a product that isn’t trying to dazzle on paper, but to disappear into your daily routine.
Unveiled in China on March 18, the new YOGA noise-cancelling earbuds land at 599 yuan (around $86), a price that puts them firmly in the crowded mid-range space. But instead of chasing flashy design or gimmicks, Lenovo leans into something more practical: making its ecosystem feel seamless.
The standout feature—at least in Lenovo’s language—is what it calls “DNA-level recognition.” Strip away the marketing gloss, and what you get is instant pairing with compatible YOGA laptops the moment the case opens. It’s the kind of small convenience that, once it works reliably, becomes hard to live without. Add dual-device connectivity, and switching between a phone call and a laptop playlist should feel almost invisible.
Quietly Competent Where It Matters
Inside, the earbuds carry 12.2mm dual-magnetic drivers, covering the standard 20Hz to 20kHz range. It’s not groundbreaking, but that’s not really the point. This setup is tuned for everyday listening—music, podcasts, calls—without overpromising audiophile-grade performance.
Call quality gets a boost from a triple-microphone setup on each earbud, paired with environmental noise cancellation (ENC). For blocking out the outside world, active noise cancellation reaches up to -40dB, which should be enough to tame commutes, office chatter, or the hum of a busy café.
Battery life follows a similar philosophy: solid, not showy. Expect up to 7 hours on a single charge with ANC off, stretching to 36 hours with the case. Turn ANC on, and it dips to about 4.5 hours per charge, or 24 hours total. There’s fast charging too—just 10 minutes plugged in delivers roughly 2 hours of playback, a small but meaningful safety net for busy days.
An IPX4 rating rounds things out, meaning sweat and light rain won’t be a problem. Gym sessions and quick outdoor runs are fair game.
For now, availability is limited to China, but the direction is clear. Lenovo isn’t trying to reinvent earbuds—it’s tightening the connections between devices you already use. And in a category overflowing with specs and promises, that kind of quiet cohesion might be exactly what some users are looking for.
