GAC Aion N60 EV Pre-Sales Open With 610 km Range

GAC Aion is about to put one of its most important new electric SUVs into the spotlight. The all-new N60 will officially open for pre-sales on April 16, 2026, and the first details already make it clear this compact EV is being aimed straight at the heart of the mainstream market.

Blind orders are already open, and the message from GAC Aion is simple: this one is meant to sell. The expected starting price is below 150,000 yuan, or roughly $21,700, while every version is set to come with a surprisingly rich equipment list. A zero-gravity co-pilot seat, LiDAR, and advanced driver assistance systems are all expected to be standard across the range. That is a strong statement in this segment.

The styling follows a clean, modern EV formula, but it does not look anonymous. Up front, the N60 uses a full-width light bar that ties together dual LED daytime running lights, rectangular headlamps, and an illuminated badge. The design was led by Benoit Jacob, the former BMW designer whose résumé includes icons such as the BMW i3 and i8. You can see that kind of background in the way the N60 balances sharp surfaces with a more premium, almost futuristic face.

Measuring 4,615 mm long, 1,860 mm or 1,883 mm wide, and 1,673 mm tall, with a 2,775 mm wheelbase, the N60 sits squarely in compact SUV territory. Buyers will have seven exterior colours to choose from, including Star Ring Silver, Soft Gold, Clear Sky Blue, Polar White, Night Shadow Black, Cloud Grey, and Sea Glow Grey. In other words, there is plenty of room for a bit of personality.

Step inside and the cabin leans heavily into tech and comfort. GAC Aion offers three interior themes, named Soft Light White, Caramel Warm Velvet, and Morning Mist Cool Grey. The centrepiece is a 15.6-inch 2.5K high-definition screen, which runs the ADiGO 6.0 intelligent cockpit system. It supports AI voice functions, Huawei Nebula Space, and smartphone connectivity for both Apple and Android users. For a car in this price range, that is a notable amount of digital polish.

There is practical thinking here too. The N60 gets a 2.38-square-metre panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade, 447 litres of standard trunk space, and up to 1,947 litres with the rear seats folded. GAC Aion also says there are 35 storage spaces spread throughout the cabin, which should help the car feel genuinely usable rather than just flashy.

Comfort features are not being treated as an afterthought. The zero-gravity co-pilot seat comes standard, while the front seats add heating, ventilation, massage, and memory functions. Rear passengers are not ignored either, with seatbacks that recline from 117 degrees to 137 degrees. That is the kind of detail families and daily commuters tend to notice very quickly.

On the driver-assistance side, the N60 arrives with 4D millimetre-wave radar and LiDAR as standard equipment. The system is built around an end-to-end large model based on WeRide’s L4 autonomous driving technology, enabling high-level intelligent driving assistance across multiple scenarios as well as smart parking functions. For a compact SUV at this price point, that is a serious technical card to play.

Power comes from an amorphous alloy silicon carbide electric drive system. The motor develops 165 kW, or 221 hp, while energy consumption is rated at 11.7 kWh per 100 km. GAC Aion says the model uses its own battery pack and can deliver up to 610 km of range on a single charge. A five-link independent rear suspension rounds out the chassis setup, which should help the N60 feel more composed on the road than many rivals in its class.

There is also another twist. GAC Aion has filed a battery-swapping version of the N60, which could broaden its appeal even further if the company brings it to market. That would be a smart move in China’s fast-moving EV landscape, where convenience can matter just as much as range.

The N60 may be compact in size, but GAC Aion is clearly packing it with enough tech, range, and equipment to make a much bigger impression.

“Cars are evolving faster than ever. I cover electric vehicles, smart mobility, and the future of transportation worldwide.”

Wow didnt expect so much kit in a compact EV! zero gravity seat, LiDAR, 15.6in screen, 35 storage spots, actually thoughtful. If price holds, gamechanger

LiDAR and battery swapping standard, plus 610 km for ~150k yuan? sounds too good. Any hidden trims or catch here..?
