Samsung’s next software test run is getting a lot less predictable. For years, the company’s beta previews for minor One UI updates were mostly a foldable-only affair. One UI 8.5 breaks that habit, and in a big way. Built on Android 16 QPR2, the beta is now reaching a wider slice of the Galaxy lineup, including several Galaxy A-series phones.

If you’ve been waiting to see whether your device made the cut, here’s the current list of Galaxy phones eligible for the One UI 8.5 beta program.

The beta is currently live in six markets: India, Korea, Germany, Poland, the US, and the UK. That matters. Even if your phone appears on the list, you’ll still need to live in one of these supported regions to enroll.

Samsung is expected to widen access over the coming weeks as more devices are added to the program. In other words, this list is likely just the first wave.

Beta software is never a risk-free ride.

Before jumping in, it’s worth remembering that test builds can be buggy, unstable, or missing features that you use every day. If that doesn’t scare you off, the sign-up process is straightforward.

Back up your important data first. Always.

Then open the Samsung Members app on your Galaxy phone and sign in with your Samsung account. Look for the One UI Beta Program banner. If it isn’t showing up, the beta is not available for your device or region yet. If it is there, accept the terms and conditions to enroll.

After that, head to Settings, then Software updates, and tap Download and install. Once the update finishes downloading, select Install now.
