Two decades on, the Range Rover Sport still knows how to make an entrance. Land Rover is marking the nameplate’s 20th anniversary with a special run called the Twenty Edition, and it leans hard into heritage without losing sight of modern muscle.
Based on the Range Rover Sport Dynamic SE, the new edition wears the Black Exterior Pack and subtle Twenty fender badging, but the detail that grabs the eye is the color palette. Buyers can choose Santorini Black or Ostuni White, though the standout is Sanguinello Orange, a vivid nod to the 2004 Range Stormer concept and the original Vesuvius Orange finish of the first Range Rover Sport.
The visual drama continues inside, where Ebony Windsor leather sport seats from the Range Rover Sport SV set the tone. Forged carbon trim, a black suedecloth headliner, illuminated sill plates, and Twenty branding on the center console give the cabin a sharper, more exclusive feel.
Plenty of kit, even before the engine starts
Land Rover has not treated this as a simple appearance package. The Twenty Edition comes with heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, along with heated and ventilated rear seats. There is also a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and an 18-speaker Meridian 3D surround system that should make long drives feel a little shorter.
Technology is handled by a 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.1-inch infotainment screen, supported by metal pedals and a wireless smartphone charger. It is a familiar luxury formula, but one that still lands well in a segment where buyers expect the cabin to do more than just look expensive.
Under the hood sits the real headline act: a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 producing 523 hp, or 390 kW and 530 PS. The result is a 0 to 60 mph sprint in 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. For a large luxury SUV, that is properly quick.
The Range Rover Sport Twenty Edition is on sale now in the U.S., with pricing starting at $114,800. That is a serious number, no question. But for a model that has passed the one-million-sales mark, Land Rover clearly sees this as more than just another trim level. It is a celebratory moment, wrapped in orange and powered by a V8.
