The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 is starting to look a lot like a very cautious update. A fresh rumor from South Korea says Samsung is planning to reuse the same 4,300 mAh battery found in last year’s Galaxy Z Flip7, and the charging story sounds even less exciting.
According to the report, the Flip8 will also stick with 25W wired charging. No bump. No surprise upgrade. Just the same charging speed Samsung has used on the Flip line since the Galaxy Z Flip4 arrived in 2022.
That kind of consistency can be reassuring if you value predictability. But for a foldable that already lives under the pressure of compact design, a battery and charging refresh would have gone a long way. Especially now that the leaks suggest Samsung may also leave the cameras untouched.
In other words, the Galaxy Z Flip8 could end up feeling more like a careful refinement than a real generational leap. That may be enough for some buyers, but it also raises a familiar question: when will Samsung finally give the Flip series the hardware shake-up it needs?
For now, all eyes are on next year’s Galaxy Z Flip9. If Samsung is holding back on the Flip8, the real payoff may still be one generation away.
