Xiaomi did not make much noise about it, but the Poco Pad C1 is now official on the company’s global website. And if the tablet looks strangely familiar, that is because it is. Under the Poco badge, this is essentially the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 returning in a different outfit.
That kind of move is hardly unusual in Xiaomi’s ecosystem. Devices often travel across regions and sub brands with little more than a new name and a fresh marketing angle. The Poco Pad C1 fits that playbook perfectly, offering the same core hardware as the Redmi model that showed up only last month.
Up front, the tablet uses a 9.7 inch LCD display with a 2048 x 1280 resolution. It also brings a 120Hz refresh rate, a 180Hz touch sampling rate, and peak brightness rated at 600 nits. On paper, that should make it a solid fit for casual gaming, video streaming, reading, and everyday browsing without feeling sluggish.

Inside, Xiaomi has equipped the Poco Pad C1 with the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset. Buyers can expect configurations with 4GB or 6GB of RAM, paired with 64GB or 128GB of storage. It is not a spec sheet built to chase flagship tablets, but it lands in a practical zone for users who want dependable performance for daily tasks.
The camera setup keeps things simple. There is an 8MP rear camera on the back and a 5MP front camera for video calls and selfies. Battery life could be one of the stronger selling points here, thanks to a 7,600mAh cell with support for 18W wired charging.
Same tablet, new badge
The Poco Pad C1 measures 226.51 x 147.97 x 7.4 mm and weighs 406 grams, which should keep it fairly easy to carry around the house, slip into a bag, or use one handed for lighter tasks. Xiaomi plans to sell it in blue and grey.
There is still one missing piece: price. Xiaomi has not revealed official pricing yet, but the tablet is expected to appear gradually through retailers in multiple global markets. When it does, the real question will not be whether the Poco Pad C1 is new. It clearly is not. The real question is whether the Poco name can give this familiar budget Android tablet a little more momentum.
