Picture a monitor that refuses to compromise. Razor-sharp 4K, and refresh rates for the most demanding gamers, both at once. That is exactly what Samsung Display just unveiled: the first panel to run true 4K at 360Hz while also supporting even higher refresh rates at lower resolutions.
No tricks. No scaled compromises. Engineers reworked the panel circuitry to push pixels and timing in ways conventional screens could not. The result is a 31.5-inch QD-OLED panel with headline numbers that read like a wish list: native 4K at 360Hz, and a Dual Mode that can hit up to 680Hz at full HD.
A display built for clarity and speed
Samsung didn't stop at raw speed. The new panel uses a V-stripe pixel structure designed to sharpen text and improve on-screen legibility, a subtle change that benefits creators, editors, and anyone who spends hours reading on a monitor. Gamers get the frame rates; professionals get fidelity. Both sides win.
HDR credentials are serious too. The panel carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification, reproducing blacks down to 0.0005 nits while still reaching 600 nits peak brightness. Dark scenes retain depth without washing out highlights. That's a tough balance, and this panel leans toward doing it well.
Expect to see these screens at COMPUTEX 2026 in June, where Samsung will put prototypes on display and talk supply with partners. The company says it is already in discussions with more than ten global monitor makers, and plans to start mass production in the second half of 2026. Early products should reach retail by the end of the year.
Price? Not announced. Availability? Likely broad, especially if Samsung Electronics chooses to use the panels in its own monitors. The bigger question is how quickly the market adopts a panel that changes the usual trade-offs between resolution and refresh. Could this be the baseline for next-generation desktop displays? Time will tell, but the direction is clear: faster frames and finer detail, together.
