Imagine a smart ring you forget you are wearing. That is the pitch behind Oura's newest model: thinner, lighter, and built to slip under your awareness while gathering more biometrics than before.
Small form, bigger ambitions
The Ring 5 measures just over 6 mm wide and 2.3 mm thick—about 40% smaller than the previous generation. It still uses titanium and smooths out the curvature for a less intrusive fit. Sizes run from 6 to 13 and the device carries IP68 protection, so it survives showers and sweat without fuss.

Sensors got a serious upgrade. Brighter LEDs and improved signal processing aim to tighten readings across different skin tones and finger types. Translation: more consistent heart rate and blood oxygen numbers, even when conditions aren’t ideal. Oura has also introduced what it calls the Health Radar system, a continuous-monitoring layer meant to spot trends and subtle changes across core biometrics rather than deliver single, isolated data points.
And yes, there is new nighttime-focused monitoring. Ring 5 adds blood pressure signal tracking while you sleep and expanded breathing and sleep reports. These features will roll out to Oura app members in the United States, India, and the United Arab Emirates starting in June. Members in those regions will also receive GLP-1 insights tied to medication and weight-tracking tools.

Activity tracking is broader too. The ring now supports more than 50 health metrics, from continuous heart rate to pace and distance for running, cycling, and strength sessions. Workouts still need to be started in the app, so the ring acts as a low-friction sensor rather than a fully standalone sports device.
Like before, deeper analysis and retrospective insights are gated behind Oura’s membership. The subscription runs about €6.49 per month or roughly €75 per year and unlocks the full suite of features.

Battery life sits between six and nine days depending on use. A full charge takes up to 80 minutes. Oura also released a travel-friendly charging case that supports wireless charging and is marketed as providing up to a month of backup power; that case is sold separately for about €109.
Pricing varies by finish. The base Silver and Black options start at €429, while premium finishes such as Gold, Stealth, and Brushed Silver begin at €529. Preorders and purchases are available via Oura’s online store and partner retailers like Amazon.

It’s a familiar trade-off: a device that aims to disappear physically while growing louder in the data it collects. Whether the smaller profile and new nighttime metrics convert skeptics will depend on how well Oura translates those signals into reliably useful guidance.
