What Mi Chat could mean for your phone
Mi Chat will reportedly be powered by Xiaomi’s in-house model, MiMo-7B-RL. Despite a relatively compact 7-billion-parameter size, MiMo has outperformed some larger rivals on benchmarks such as AIME 24/25 and LiveCodeBench v5 — a sign that Xiaomi is squeezing strong reasoning and coding capabilities from a smaller footprint.
