Samsung has begun rolling out the December 2025 security update for its latest foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. The patch addresses a broad set of vulnerabilities and arrives as part of Samsung's monthly cadence to keep flagship devices protected.
What’s in the update and where it’s live
The December patch resolves 57 security issues across the platform, strengthening both system and app-level defenses. The initial rollout is happening in South Korea, with wider distribution expected in the coming days. Each update weighs in at roughly 450MB, so a Wi‑Fi connection is recommended before downloading.
Build numbers differ by model: the Galaxy Z Fold 6 ships with firmware version F956NKSS2CYKE, while the Galaxy Z Flip 6 carries F741NKSS2CYKE. Both packages bundle the same security fixes and stability improvements.

How to get the patch now
To check for the update manually, open Settings > Software update > Download and install. If the update hasn't reached your region yet, Samsung typically staggers releases by market — patience for a few days usually pays off. When the files are widely available, firmware repositories will publish the full packages for advanced users.
Beyond this security rollup, Samsung is also working on One UI 8.5, a next-generation interface that brings visual refinements and new features to compatible phones and tablets. While One UI 8.5 is a separate upgrade, regular security patches like this December release keep current devices protected until the larger OS refresh arrives.
