The Huawei Mate 80 series has raced past an estimated 750,000 units shipped within roughly two weeks of its China launch, but early demand is already outpacing supply and several configurations are facing long delivery waits.
Short supply, long waits
Weibo tipster Geek Village Chief reports Huawei has been shipping devices steadily, yet higher-end models—most notably the Mate 80 Pro Max—are in tight supply. New orders for premium variants are being quoted waits up to two months, with some stores pushing delivery estimates into February 2026.
The Mate line remains Huawei’s flagship in China because it balances high-end hardware, upgraded camera systems and deeper HarmonyOS integration with more accessible pricing than many competitors. That value mix appears to be a key reason buyers raced to preorder.

- Mate 80 (12GB / 256GB) — CNY 4,699 (~$660)
- Mate 80 Pro — starting at CNY 5,999 (~$840)
Local coverage suggests the Mate 80 launch is outpacing recent flagships from rivals, including Apple’s iPhone 17 and Xiaomi’s 17 series. Huawei’s rebound in the domestic market has been driven by a large offline retail footprint, a loyal customer base and a consistent flagship cadence.
Industry estimates indicate the Mate 80 lineup could reach between 10 and 14 million units across its full sales cycle if production scales up. For now, Huawei’s immediate task is ramping manufacturing fast enough to turn this early momentum into sustained market share.
