Jeep's new Shadow Ops gives the Gladiator a factory winch
Jeep has introduced a tougher-looking, more recovery-capable version of its midsize pickup: the 2026 Gladiator Shadow Ops. Built as a special package on the Gladiator Rubicon, Shadow Ops brings a military-inspired appearance and — importantly — a factory-installed winch, a feature you won’t find from the factory on any other midsize truck.
What sets Shadow Ops apart
The headline hardware is the winch integrated into a heavy-duty steel front bumper. Jeep says this significantly improves recovery capability for serious off-road use. The front bumper treatment is mirrored by a similarly robust rear bumper, giving the Gladiator a balanced, ready-for-recovery look and practical function when the trail gets difficult.

Exterior upgrades include bespoke Shadow Ops hood and fender graphics, a tailgate decal, and Jeep’s ‘theme package’ treatments like a satin-black grille and body-colored fender flares. The three-piece hardtop is also finished to match the exterior color, reinforcing the package’s stealthy, military vibe.
Inside: simple and purposeful
Don’t expect a heavily reworked cabin. Jeep kept interior changes minimal — the only dedicated interior item for Shadow Ops is all-weather slush mats. That decision keeps the package focused on exterior capability and trail-ready hardware rather than luxury or cosmetic cabin upgrades.
Performance, capability and market positioning
Shadow Ops is offered exclusively as a package on the Rubicon — Jeep’s off-road benchmark in the Gladiator lineup. The standard Gladiator Rubicon for 2026 carries a $52,000 starting MSRP. Shadow Ops is an optional package priced at $4,995. Jeep positions the package as a value add: it claims Shadow Ops represents just a $2,605 premium over a similarly equipped Rubicon that already includes body-colored hardtop and fender flares.

That math places the Gladiator Rubicon Shadow Ops at an MSRP of $56,995. Orders open in February 2026 at Jeep dealers nationwide.
Quick highlights

"A factory winch changes how owners use their truck off-road," says a Jeep rep, "it turns recovery from an aftermarket add-on into an integrated capability." That integration is the key selling point: buyers who want purpose-built trail readiness straight out of the showroom won’t have to hunt the aftermarket for a bolt-on solution.

How it fits the midsize pickup market
In a crowded midsize truck market, Jeep’s angle is specialization. Many buyers accept aftermarket bumpers and winches, but a factory-installed solution appeals to buyers who want dealer-backed installation, warranty coverage, and a turn-key off-road tool. For Gladiator shoppers who prioritize recovery capability and rugged styling, Shadow Ops is a logical step up from standard Rubicon trim without moving into the pricier Rubicon X or Mojave X territory.
If you were waiting for a Gladiator that comes from the factory ready to pull you out of trouble — the Shadow Ops is the closest thing yet from Jeep. Reservations start when dealer order books open in February 2026.

Is the factory winch really worth the dealer markup? Nice matched bumpers tho, warranty is tempting but does it match aftermarket pull ratings.. anyone know?
