Ford Ka returns — in CGI form and with French roots
Digital artist Kleber Silva has reimagined the Ford Ka for 2027, basing his CGI concept on the same architecture that underpins the Renault Twingo E-Tech. The result is a compact A-segment EV that wears Ford styling cues while retaining clear links to its French donor car. The render gives the Ka a bolder, more modern face — and sparks fresh debate about how legacy nameplates could be reborn in an electric era.
Exterior: familiar bones, distinct personality
At first glance the proportions echo the Twingo E-Tech, especially around the greenhouse and arched front pillars. But Silva’s Ka sports a redesigned front bumper, a closed-off grille suited to an electric drivetrain, and oversized, characterful headlights that depart from Renault’s look. The hood appears flatter, the rear receives new taillight graphics and a revised tailgate, while refreshed wheels and a yellow-and-black color scheme complete the visual upgrade.

Interior: rebadge or redesign?
Inside, the concept is more conservative: the dashboard layout, center console, door cards and steering wheel closely mirror the Twingo E-Tech. In these renderings the primary change is emblematic — the steering wheel wears Ford’s Blue Oval rather than Renault’s diamond. That continuity underlines a common challenge for rebadged models: how to create brand distinction without expensive reengineering.
Practical context and market positioning
Ford discontinued the Ka (and Ka+) in Europe in 2020 and ended production in Brazil a year later. The third-generation Ka had been built in Brazil and India on the B2E platform, sharing mechanical DNA with models such as the EcoSport and Fiesta. Powertrain options historically varied by region, including gasoline and diesel choices — a far cry from the EV concept proposed by Silva.

The idea of resurrecting the Ka as a compact, city-focused electric makes strategic sense. European urban markets increasingly favor small EVs for their low running costs and zero-emission credentials. Ford has publicly explored reviving other nameplates like the Focus and Fiesta, so a modern A-segment EV wearing the Ka badge would fit a broader product strategy — if it ever reached production.
Highlights
- Designer: Kleber Silva (Behance) — CGI reinterpretation
- Base architecture: Renault Twingo E-Tech (speculative)
- Exterior: new bumper, closed grille, unique headlights
- Interior: largely shared layout, swapped Ford badge
"The render captures a believable way Ford could re-enter the A-segment with an EV,” says an industry observer. “But a rebadge would need deeper differentiation to feel like a true Ford."

Could it happen?
As appealing as the CGI is, there’s no evidence Ford plans to collaborate with Renault on a Twingo-based Ka. No official announcements or platform-sharing deals have been disclosed. Still, with automakers searching for lower-cost ways to expand EV lineups, badge engineering remains a realistic — if contentious — route.
What remains most valuable about Silva’s work is not the likelihood of a rebadged Ka, but the conversation it provokes about small EV design and brand identity. Do you like this digitally revived Ka?

Love the Ka comeback vibe! but pls not just a sticker job, give it character and some real Ford DNA, ya?

If Ford just rebadged a Twingo, would people care? Looks neat but feels half baked, needs deeper change s. Sketchy collab though.
