New GLA prototype shows clearer identity — and an EV first
Mercedes-Benz's next-generation GLA has been spotted testing with fresh design clues and a clear strategy: offer both electric and internal-combustion variants while keeping the compact crossover's proportions familiar. The late-2019 second-generation GLA is starting to look dated, and these new spy shots suggest Mercedes is ready to modernize the subcompact SUV without blowing up the model's role in the lineup.
Design: evolution, not revolution
Camouflage vinyl makes it hard to study details, but the overall silhouette appears close to the current GLA rather than dramatically larger. Key styling changes are already visible:
