LG is gearing up to introduce CLOiD, a household robot set to handle various domestic tasks, at CES 2026. Early images focus on its hands — two fully articulated limbs with five controllable fingers — suggesting a new level of dexterity.
What we know so far
Details are still limited, but LG has revealed that CLOiD’s arms use dedicated motors to provide seven degrees of freedom, giving the robot more human-like reach and flexibility. A processing chip in the head will act as the robot’s brain, while an integrated display, speaker, camera and sensors support voice interaction and navigation.
LG says CLOiD will run its Affectionate Intelligence system — an AI layer designed to better understand and empathize with users — helping the robot interact more naturally. Unlike the wheeled prototype LG showed last year, the new images emphasize manipulation: imagine a robot that can pick up a cup, fold laundry or tidy a spill with individual finger control.

The full reveal is imminent: CES 2026 takes place in Las Vegas from January 6–9, so more specifications and a live demo should arrive soon.
LG’s robotics strategy
Robotics is now a strategic growth area for LG. The company recently launched HS Robotics lab to accelerate innovation and deepen collaboration across the industry. LG is actively researching and partnering with robotics teams in South Korea and around the world to expand its capabilities in consumer-facing robots.
