Institutional investors return as spot Bitcoin ETFs draw $2.26B
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a net inflow of $337.6 million on Monday, extending a six-day streak of inflows that pushed total new capital into these funds to $2.26 billion over that period. The renewed demand from institutional investors has tightened net outflows for the year to roughly $2.57 billion, while cumulative net inflows since the ETFs launched have reached about $54 billion. Assets under management for Bitcoin ETF products now sit near $98.56 billion.
Price rally and shifting market sentiment
The institutional demand coincides with a rapid market rally: Bitcoin surged more than 20% in the past week, lifting prices to approximately $80,700. The crypto market's Fear and Greed Index climbed to 74 — its highest reading since October 2025 — signaling a clear shift toward bullish sentiment and renewed investor optimism.

Demand spreads across crypto ETFs
This wave of capital is not limited to Bitcoin. Spot Ethereum ETFs pulled in about $812.8 million over six consecutive sessions, and flows into Ripple (XRP) ETF products have reached roughly $400 million year-to-date. The broader uptake highlights growing institutional and retail interest in diversified crypto investment vehicles, including Bitcoin ETFs, Ethereum ETFs, and other token-based funds.
Risks for retail traders: volatility and profit-taking
While inflows and price momentum point to strengthening market confidence, the rapid rise in prices and the return of 'greed' increase the likelihood of short-term profit-taking and heightened volatility. Retail investors should exercise caution, consider position sizing and risk management, and be aware that sudden reversals can follow fast-moving rallies driven by concentrated ETF buying.
Overall, the latest ETF inflows underscore the continuing role of institutional capital in shaping crypto markets and the expanding demand for regulated spot crypto investment products.
