Motorola Signature 27 unveils 200MP telephoto and Snapdragon

Motorola shared a first look at the Signature 27 during Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit keynote on 23 September 2026, confirming the handset as one of the first smartphones to use the newly announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.

Only the second phone in Motorola's Signature series, the handset also introduces a new naming convention that uses the last two digits of the year it is set to launch, hence Signature 27.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in the Signature 27 is paired with an ArcticMesh cooling system that incorporates a vapor chamber Motorola says is 40 percent larger than the one used in the previous generation. The company framed the change as a step toward more sustained performance under load.

On the imaging side, Motorola lists a 50MP Sony LYT 910 primary rear sensor with support for 3.5 degree OIS. The phone is also equipped with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, though Motorola has not disclosed details about the remaining cameras.

Audio partnership and finishes

Motorola recently announced a long term partnership with Bang & Olufsen and says the Signature 27 is the first product from that collaboration to carry Audio by B&O. The phone will come in Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Capulet Olive, with both variants featuring a unique textured finish on the rear panel.

Motorola has promised seven years of OS updates for the Signature 27.

The company says the phone will be available globally later this year, with the exact launch date, complete specifications, and pricing to be revealed soon.
