Nissan Y63 Patrol Adds Space, Cargo and Towing in Australia

Nissan Australia has published technical specifications for the all-new Y63 Patrol ahead of first deliveries scheduled for the first quarter of next year, saying the full-size, body-on-frame SUV gains passenger space, cargo capacity and towing capability over the outgoing model. Order books opened at the end of August 2026 and Nissan has confirmed pricing for a six-grade line up that begins at AUD 98,990.

Powertrain and towing capability

The new Patrol is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 derived from the GT-R. Nissan rates the engine at 317 kW and 700 Nm, which the company also cites as 425 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Nissan says these outputs represent increases of 19 kW and 140 Nm compared with the Y62 generation.

Braked towing capacity is 3,700 kg, or 8,157 pounds, an increase of 200 kg over the outgoing model. Adaptive air suspension is specified on the Pro-4X and Ti-L Reserve grades.

Interior, seating and cargo volumes

Nissan states the Y63 delivers notable gains in passenger room across all three rows. Front occupants receive new Zero Gravity seat structures with improved hip, shoulder and leg room; a driver massage function is standard on Ti-L Plus and provided for both front occupants on Ti-L Reserve. Second-row passengers also have Zero Gravity seats plus a new slide mechanism and smart tilt and glide operation.

With the second row moved fully forward, Nissan claims up to 253 mm more legroom for third-row occupants. Measured cargo volumes are 577 liters with all three rows in place and 1,594 liters with only two rows in place. The Patrol’s maximum cargo capacity is stated as up to 2,749 liters, or 97 cubic feet. Compared with the Y62, Nissan says cargo volume has increased by 110 liters with all rows in use, by 181 liters with one row folded and by 127 liters with two rows folded.

Trims, pricing and warranty

Nissan Australia is offering six trim levels, including the market’s first Patrol Pro-4X. The new Patrol is priced from AUD 98,990, which Nissan notes is AUD 2,450 higher than the outgoing Y62 model. Order books opened at the end of August 2026 and first deliveries are planned for the first quarter of next year.

Nissan also details a long warranty package of up to 10 years or 186,411 miles for the new Patrol in the Australian market.
