Xiaomi has added two more appliances to its Mijia lineup, and both are aimed squarely at people who need smart storage without sacrificing space. The new 186L double-door refrigerator and 216L triple-door refrigerator arrive with aggressive pricing, clean industrial design, and a clear focus on compact kitchens, rental apartments, and smaller households.
The bigger of the two, the Mijia 216L triple-door refrigerator, is built around a three-zone layout that makes everyday food storage feel a little less chaotic. The main fridge compartment offers 129 liters of space and keeps temperatures between 2°C and 8°C. Above that, the 30-liter soft-freeze zone runs from -7°C to 0°C, which should suit delicate ingredients and items that need to stay partially chilled. Down below, the 57-liter freezer reaches -24°C to -18°C for long-term frozen storage.
Xiaomi has also given the 216L model a polished, minimalist look with a concealed handle and a one-piece exterior. It carries a Level 1 energy efficiency rating and consumes just 0.43 kWh per day, which is a strong selling point at a time when many buyers are paying close attention to power use. Noise is kept to 36dB(A), so it should sit quietly in the background rather than dominate a small living space.
The 186L double-door model takes a simpler route, but that is exactly the point. It is designed for smaller homes, studio apartments, and rental spaces where every centimeter matters. Inside, it splits storage between a 129-liter refrigerator compartment and a 57-liter freezer section, with multi-layer adjustable shelves for more flexible organization. Xiaomi also uses a dual-drawer freezer layout here, which should make frozen food easier to sort and retrieve.
Like its larger sibling, the 186L refrigerator leans into a restrained, modern look. The PCM metal panel and hidden handle give it a neat profile, while the Level 1 energy rating and 0.41 kWh daily power consumption make it one of the more efficient options in its class. It also runs at 36dB(A), keeping things quiet enough for open-plan homes and shared kitchens.

Small footprint, big practicality
Both refrigerators are built to disappear into tight spaces rather than dominate them. Xiaomi says each model takes up less than 0.3 square meters of floor area and measures just 505mm wide, which makes them especially appealing for compact kitchen layouts. The company has also included practical touches such as durable hinges, LED interior lighting, removable door seals, and adjustable temperature controls.
Pricing is another part of the story. The 186L double-door refrigerator is set at 849 yuan, or about $123, while the 216L triple-door model costs 949 yuan, roughly $138. For buyers looking for an affordable refrigerator that still offers modern design and sensible storage options, Xiaomi is clearly aiming to hit a sweet spot.
The launch also fits into a broader appliance push from the company. Xiaomi recently unveiled a 10kg ultra-slim front-load washing machine and the Mijia Garment Steamer 2, which delivers 120g/min steam output and supports six fabric modes. Taken together, the products show that Xiaomi is continuing to build out its home appliance ecosystem with an eye on practicality, value, and space-saving design.

Seems too cheap tho, anyone tested long term? Hidden handle sounds sleek but could be fragile, and real-world noise vs the 36dB claim — curious if it's quiet in practice

No way, 0.43 kWh/day? that's insanely low for a fridge… triple zones actually useful. If Xiaomi didn't cut corners on materials, this could be perfect for tiny flats!
