Motorola is moving fast this time. The next Razr family is expected to break cover on April 29, and if the latest chatter proves right, the company is lining up not one but four foldables for the US market.
That is a pretty aggressive move, especially when you consider how much of the story has already leaked. The Razr 2026 lineup, reportedly including the Razr 2026, Razr Plus 2026, Razr Ultra 2026, and the book-style Razr Fold 2026, has been making the rounds online for weeks. At this point, the mystery is less about what Motorola is showing and more about how it plans to price the whole package.
A late reveal, but not a surprise
If the April 29 date holds, Motorola will be unveiling the new generation just a few days later than last year’s Razr 2025 launch on April 24. In the bigger picture, that is hardly a dramatic delay. In the foldable market, timing matters, but so does momentum, and Motorola seems determined to keep both on its side.
The company has built a solid following around the Razr brand, especially in the US, where its clamshell phones have become some of the most recognizable Galaxy Z Flip alternatives. Still, this year’s launch could be tougher to sell if Samsung continues to dominate the premium foldable conversation.
One question hangs in the air: will the Razr 2026 models be available right away? Probably not. Based on Motorola’s usual rollout pattern, buyers may have to wait at least a week, and possibly longer, after the announcement. A recent report points to May 21 as the US release date, which would mean a wait of nearly a month after launch.
That is a long stretch for fans who want the newest foldable in hand immediately. Then again, the wait could vary by region. Motorola often staggers availability across markets, so European buyers may see the devices earlier or later than customers in the United States.

The pricing picture is getting serious
The rumored pricing is where things start to get interesting, and not necessarily in a good way.
- Razr 2026 with 256GB storage and 8GB RAM: $799.99
- Razr Plus 2026 with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM: $1,099.99
- Razr Ultra 2026 with 512GB storage and 16GB RAM: $1,499.99
- Razr Fold 2026 with 512GB storage and 16GB RAM: $1,899.99
If these numbers are accurate, Motorola is preparing a sharper climb in pricing across the board. The standard Razr would rise by about $100 over its predecessor, while the Razr Ultra would jump by $200. The Razr Plus seems to follow a similar path, landing in territory that leaves very little room for hesitation.
The Razr Fold is the one that stands out most. As Motorola’s first book-style foldable, it is expected to undercut Samsung’s most affordable Galaxy Z Fold 7 model by roughly $100. On paper, that sounds competitive. In practice, it may not be enough to sway buyers who are already waiting for Samsung’s next-generation foldables, especially with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 family expected within months.
That is the tricky part. A price gap only matters if it feels meaningful. Right now, Motorola’s rumored numbers suggest ambition, but not necessarily a knockout punch.
As for the design, Motorola is teasing the usual language about “bold colors” and “breathtaking finishes,” which is marketing speak for a device that wants attention the second it hits the table. Leaks have already shown off several striking color options and textured finishes, so the company is not exactly preserving a great deal of suspense.
The bigger question is whether style alone will be enough. Motorola has clearly polished the Razr identity into one of the most attractive foldable phone lineups around, but the US market is brutally competitive, and Samsung still sets the pace. If Apple enters the foldable arena with an iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra by late 2026, the pressure will only get heavier.
For now, all eyes are on April 29. That is when Motorola is expected to make it official. What happens after that may matter even more.

Nice colors, bold finishes... but price creep is real. $799 base ok, yet Ultra at $1,499? Not sure that’s enough to take on Samsung. if Apple folds in, uh oh

April 29 reveal, then a month wait? Wait $1,899 for a Razr Fold? Really? Seems steep if samsungs Fold 8 is near. Are these leaks legit or smoke and mirrors... gonna wait for hands-on
