Porsche unveils the 911 GT3 90 F.A. Porsche limited edition

Porsche has introduced a special-edition 911 GT3 to mark what would have been Ferdinand Alexander Porsche's 90th birthday. Built by the company's Zuffenhausen team with input from Ferdinand’s youngest son, Marc, the 911 GT3 90 F.A. Porsche pays homage to the designer who founded Porsche Design in 1972.

Design inspired by a designer

The limited-run GT3 is based on the touring-spec 911 GT3 and features a bespoke metallic F.A. green paint that nods to the oak green used on Ferdinand’s personal 911. Outside, the car rides on classic satin black sport wheels with a 1963 Porsche crest on the central lock hub, while the rear engine grille bears a dedicated "90 F. A. Porsche" emblem.

Inside, Porsche has blended classic and contemporary materials. Brown trafalgar leather seats incorporate a fabric center panel inspired by Ferdinand’s favorite sport coat pattern. That same F.A. Grid-Weave fabric appears on the glovebox and the front trunk lining, creating a consistent theme across cabin and luggage spaces.

A gold-plated dash plaque features a silhouette of the original 911, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche’s signature and the inscription 'ONE of 90.' Other bespoke touches include a specially finished center console and contrasting limestone stitching throughout the interior.

Performance and technical details

The 911 GT3 90 F.A. retains the same heart as the standard GT3: a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six that produces 502 hp and 448 Nm of torque. Paired with the automatic PDK transmission, the GT3 sprints from 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 311 km/h. These performance figures keep the limited edition firmly in the high-performance sports car segment while offering unique collector appeal.

Highlights:

  • Engine: 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six
  • Power: 502 hp
  • Torque: 448 Nm
  • 0-96 km/h: 3.2 seconds
  • Top speed: 311 km/h

Production, pricing and collector extras

Production is strictly limited to 90 units, with one example reserved for Marc Porsche. Pricing starts at $387,000 and manufacturing will begin in mid-2026. Each buyer will receive two special accessories created for the release: a matching Vicender travel bag crafted from the same brown trafalgar leather with limestone stitching, and a dedicated Porsche Design Chronograph 1.

The Chronograph 1 for this release is offered in a titanium case with a black titanium bracelet and an optional leather strap. The Vicender bag includes the F.A. Grid-Weave fabric on the front pocket and an anniversary badge on the exterior.

Market context and outlook

Limited-edition Porsche models—especially those tied to the brand’s founders and design icons—tend to hold appeal for collectors and often appreciate in value over time. This GT3 variant strengthens Porsche’s position in the niche market for high-performance, heritage-driven special editions that blend modern engineering with historical references.

Whether prized as a driving machine or a collectible, the 911 GT3 90 F.A. Porsche is clearly aimed at enthusiasts who value design provenance as much as outright performance.

“Cars are evolving faster than ever. I cover electric vehicles, smart mobility, and the future of transportation worldwide.”

Is the watch and bag really worth $387k or just marketing fluff? 90 units, sure, but is it a sound investment or pure ego buy... if it appreciates though
