Fiat dresses the 600 in sporty looks — but it’s mostly cosmetic

Fiat has introduced a new Sport trim for the compact Fiat 600 SUV that brings aggressive styling to both hybrid and electric versions — without the performance upgrades of the Abarth models. The package, available to order from January 2026, gives buyers the visual punch of the 600e Abarth while keeping running costs and prices closer to the standard lineup.

What’s new on the outside and inside?

The Sport version stands out with vivid paint choices such as acid green paired with a gloss black roof, dark 18-inch alloy wheels and blacked-out exterior detailing for a strong contrast. Inside, Fiat swaps the bright playful interior for a darker, sportier cabin: a unique dashboard layout, sportier upholstery and a generally more focused atmosphere — though you won’t find the full-bucket Abarth racing seats.

"It’s a look-first package — for drivers who want attitude without the Abarth price tag," says the practical takeaway for shoppers.

Powertrain and performance — unchanged

Despite the aggressive styling, the Sport trim does not bring mechanical enhancements. There are no sport-tuned suspension, uprated brakes, or extra power. The Fiat 600 Sport is offered across the same two powertrains as the standard range:

  • Hybrid mild-hybrid options: a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol paired with a 28 hp electric motor. The entry hybrid develops about 100 hp and starts at £28,750. A 134 hp hybrid option is available for £29,750.
  • Pure electric 600e Sport: priced at £29,750, it uses a 54 kWh battery with an estimated range close to 400 km and a 154 hp electric motor, giving roughly 0–100 km/h in 9 seconds.

Highlights:

  • Visual package: black roof, dark 18" alloys, sporty trim
  • No mechanical upgrades: same engines, suspension, and brakes
  • EV range: approx. 400 km (54 kWh battery)

Market positioning and rivals

The Sport trim slots between the regular 600 models and the more extreme Abarth 600e. Fiat markets it to buyers who want a sportier appearance without the higher price, insurance and possibly firmer ride of performance models — the 600e Sport is around £7,000 cheaper than the Abarth 600e.

Its main competitor in the crowded small SUV segment is the Ford Puma. The Puma ST-Line with mild-hybrid tech starts from about £27,480, while the top electric Puma trims are in the low £28k range — putting the 600 Sport squarely into a competitive pricing band.

For shoppers prioritizing styling and everyday usability over track-ready handling, the Fiat 600 Sport offers a compelling, affordable way to grab attention on the road without changing the mechanical story.
