Binance launches four-week RLUSD rewards push totaling 1M XRP
Binance has announced a fresh, four-week incentives program targeting RLUSD holders, offering a total reward pool of one million XRP. The promotion runs from 00:00 UTC on Aug. 14 through Sept. 11, with weekly distributions scheduled each Friday beginning Aug. 21. The initiative follows Binance’s earlier RLUSD promotion and aims to boost liquidity and usage of Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin across Binance Earn and Margin products.
How the RLUSD XRP rewards work
Participants will share a pool denominated directly in XRP rather than a fixed USD amount, which means the dollar value each week will vary with the XRP price Binance applies at distribution time. Binance will calculate an effective APR for each weekly window and use that rate together with users’ qualifying RLUSD balances to allocate XRP rewards. The exchange computes a user’s qualifying balance using hourly snapshots; the lowest RLUSD balance observed during each day becomes that day’s qualifying balance. There is no stated per-user cap for the reward program.
Eligibility and trading-volume requirement
To be eligible, users must hold at least 0.01 RLUSD in an eligible Binance Earn or Margin account. In addition, participants must record a minimum average daily derivatives trading volume of $500 in Margin or Futures trading across supported pairs. The trading volume requirement can originate from any supported trading pairs so long as RLUSD is being used as collateral during the campaign period. Users must also complete KYC and remain in an eligible jurisdiction to participate.

Borrowed RLUSD and the 60% haircut rule
Binance applies special treatment to RLUSD that was created by borrowing other stablecoins. When a user’s RLUSD position is funded by borrowed stablecoins, Binance applies a 60% haircut to the leveraged portion for reward-qualification purposes after accounting for liabilities in USDT, USDC, U, USD1 and FDUSD. RLUSD that itself appears as a borrowing liability is excluded from the qualifying balance entirely. This approach reduces the impact of leveraged or synthetic exposures on reward allocations and clarifies how margin liabilities interact with the incentives program.
Distribution schedule and historical APR context
The one million XRP pool will be split across four weekly distributions on Aug. 21, Aug. 28, Sept. 4 and Sept. 11. Binance will publish the effective APR and the XRP valuation used to compute payouts at each distribution. For context, the prior RLUSD promotion — which ran through Aug. 14 — began with a first-week effective APR of 22.25% and then declined across subsequent weeks to 8.22%, 8.08% and 7.69%. Binance cautions that prior APRs are not indicative of future results and can fluctuate week to week.
Geographic exclusions and regulatory caveats
The campaign is not globally available. Binance’s exclusion list currently blocks participation from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan and multiple European Economic Area jurisdictions. The exchange notes that the list may change as regulatory frameworks evolve. Additionally, Binance warns that unauthorized stablecoin products could face limitations for EEA users under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation; merely holding RLUSD does not automatically confer eligibility for rewards unless users meet the other criteria and reside in an approved jurisdiction.
RLUSD supply and transparency
This program follows Binance’s listing of RLUSD and several XRP-linked trading pairs earlier in the year. Ripple’s transparency reports, issued monthly, show RLUSD circulating supply and reserve fund balances. As of Aug. 6, Ripple reported approximately $1.5896 billion of RLUSD outstanding against $1.7026 billion in reserve funds. RLUSD is issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company under the supervision of the New York Department of Financial Services and is accompanied by independent CPA attestations.
What participants should monitor
Users considering participation should track several variables: their qualifying RLUSD balance (after any haircuts), required average daily derivatives or margin volume, Binance’s weekly effective APR, and the XRP price used to value weekly distributions. Since the total pool is a fixed one million XRP, each participant’s payout will depend on their share of total eligible balances across the campaign period rather than a guaranteed return. Binance will publish the effective APR and XRP valuation for each distribution date, beginning with the first payout on Aug. 21.
For traders and crypto-savvy savers, this extension represents an opportunity to earn additional XRP rewards by holding RLUSD on Binance while maintaining the required derivatives or margin activity. However, prospective participants should weigh regulatory restrictions, the haircut rules for borrowed stablecoins, and fluctuating APRs and token prices before allocating capital.

Seems like Binance loves promos, but exclusion list kills it for many. APRs look decent short-term, long term? meh, risky. gotta watch XRP price closely
Wait so rewards are paid in XRP not USD? cool but that price swing could ruin the APR math, and the 60% haircut on borrowed RLUSD… really? who thought that was fair
