BMW has published Australian pricing for the first two members of its new iX4 electric crossover coupe range, the iX4 40 xDrive and iX4 50 xDrive. A performance M60 xDrive is confirmed to join the lineup later in 2027, with pricing to be announced.
Pricing and availability in Australia
BMW Australia lists the 2027 iX4 40 xDrive at AU$103,900 and the iX4 50 xDrive at AU$119,900. The M60 xDrive is due later in 2027; BMW has not released Australian pricing for that model.

Powertrains, batteries and performance
The iX4 40 xDrive uses a dual-motor layout producing 275 kW (374 PS / 369 bhp) and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque, paired with an 82.6 kWh battery. BMW specifies DC charging at up to 300 kW, enabling a 10–80 percent charge in 21 minutes; AC charging at 22 kW returns 0–100 percent in about 4 hours 15 minutes. BMW rates the WLTP driving range at 638 km (396 miles). The 0–100 kph time is 5.6 seconds and the top speed is 200 kph (124 mph).

The iX4 50 xDrive also uses two motors, with combined outputs of 345 kW (469 PS / 463 hp) and 645 Nm (475 lb-ft). It carries a larger 108.7 kWh battery and supports up to 400 kW DC charging with a 10–80 percent charge in 21 minutes; AC charging at 22 kW takes about 5 hours 30 minutes for 0–100 percent. BMW lists a WLTP range of up to 828 km (514 miles). Acceleration to 100 kph is 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 210 kph (130 mph).

The forthcoming iX4 M60 xDrive uses the same 108.7 kWh battery and 400 kW DC charging capability. Its dual-motor system is rated at 450 kW (612 PS / 603 hp) and 875 Nm (645 lb-ft). BMW states a 0–100 kph time of 3.9 seconds, a top speed of 240 kph (149 mph) and a WLTP range of 777 km (483 miles). The M60 xDrive is expected in Australia later in 2027; BMW has not published local pricing.
Standard equipment and options
BMW lists a comprehensive standard specification for the 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive that includes these items as standard:
- 20-inch M light-alloy wheels (double-spoke style 1048 M Bicolor)
- Adaptive M suspension and Dynamic Performance Control
- Automatic tailgate opening and panoramic sunroof
- Iconic Glow Pack, Expanded Exterior Mirror Pack and LED headlights
- 3D head-up display, power-adjustable seats with memory and heated front and rear seats
- Ambient lighting, automatic air conditioning, comfort access system and DAB tuner
- Active cruise control, Parking Assistant Plus, Steering and Lane Control Assistant and alarm system
- Harman Kardon premium sound system and Veganza-wrapped instrument panel

Exterior paint is Alpine White as standard in Australia. Metallic and BMW Individual shades are optional: Mineral White Metallic, M Brooklyn Gray Metallic, Black Sapphire Metallic, Space Silver Metallic, Ocean Wave Blue Metallic, Fire Red Metallic, BMW Individual Polarized Gray Metallic and Eucalyptus Green Metallic are available for an additional AU$2,000; BMW Individual Frozen Space Silver is AU$6,000 extra.
Wheel and interior options include a no-cost 20-inch M aerodynamic wheel (1047 M Bicolor); 21-inch M light-alloy and 21-inch M aerodynamic alloys are AU$2,500 extra, 21-inch M aerodynamic Jet Black is AU$3,200 extra, 22-inch BMW Individual wheels are AU$5,300 extra and 22-inch M light-alloy wheels are AU$7,700 extra. Interior upholstery choices—Black Bicolor, Digital White Bicolor, Castanea Bicolor, Agave Green Bicolor and Black—are listed as no-cost options when specified with the Multifunction seat.

Optional M Sport equipment includes M Sport red brakes, M seatbelts, an M steering wheel, M Sport front seats, M Shadowline kidney grille, an M-specific rear spoiler and high-gloss black door mirror casings; BMW also offers multifunction front seats and dark blue metallic M Sport brakes as no-cost configuration options in some combinations.
