BMW has priced the fifth-generation X5 range in the United Kingdom: the all-electric iX5 60 xDrive from £85,375 OTR, the diesel X5 40d xDrive from £85,885 OTR, and the plug-in-hybrid X5 50e xDrive from £86,870 OTR.

In the United States BMW lists the 2027 X5 starting at $72,100 for a single 40 xDrive configuration, powered by a 3.0-litre BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline six producing 394 hp, rated at 28 mpg combined by the EPA and capable of 0-60 mph in 5.1 seconds.

BMW has not announced US pricing for other versions; the company says the first-ever iX5 will arrive sometime in 2027.

The UK line-up covers three of the X5's five drive systems: gasoline, plug-in hybrid and fully electric. Hydrogen drive is not yet available.

The iX5 60 xDrive uses a dual-motor system that produces 578 hp, and BMW quotes a WLTP range of up to 525 miles and ultra-fast DC charging at 460 kW enabled by an 800-volt architecture.

The X5 50e xDrive combines a latest 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine with a new turbo and a 26.5 kWh net battery pack that BMW says delivers up to 63 miles of all-electric range (WLTP).

The X5 40d xDrive is powered by a 3.0-litre diesel with BMW EfficientDynamics technology and two-stage turbocharging, paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system and a combined fuel consumption figure up to 40.4 mpg (WLTP).

BMW says the fifth-generation X5 introduces Neue Klasse styling inside and out while retaining CLAR underpinnings.

According to BMW, the new wrap-around cockpit "introduces a 3D backlit ambient light strip and sets the stage for BMW Panoramic iDrive, bringing together the free-cut Central Display, BMW Panoramic Vision, BMW 3D Head-Up Display and the multifunction steering wheel." BMW adds that the BMW Passenger Screen is optional.

Personalisation includes M Sport Pro specification with 22-inch Trigon light-alloy wheels in Jet Black, M Sport brakes with red calipers and a dark BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille in M Shadowline. BMW also offers an M Performance Parts catalogue with carbon fibre front splitter, roof spoiler, rear diffuser, exterior mirror caps and dedicated wheel designs.

UK prices quoted are on-the-road. BMW has yet to confirm wider European or further US pricing and detailed delivery schedules for the new X5 variants and the iX5.
