Honda brings 2027 Prelude Limited Edition to Europe

Honda will introduce the 2027 Prelude Limited Edition to European markets this autumn, with deliveries expected in October or November, the company said in a press release dated 29 September 2026. The special model follows the Prelude's positive debut in Japan and will be offered across Europe in a unique, model-specific specification.

The Limited Edition presents a deliberately red-on-red aesthetic. Outside, the car wears Premium Crystal Garnet Metallic paint, described by Honda as an exclusive hue engineered to catch the light and accentuate the car's fluid contours. Red accents on the front and rear bumpers, red Brembo brake calipers and 19" black cut alloys complete the exterior treatment. Inside, Bordeaux upholstery is paired with red contrast stitching across the steering wheel, centre console and dashboard, and each car receives the "Prelude" logo embroidered on the dashboard.

Tomoyuki Yamagami, Large Project Leader for the Honda Prelude, said, "The characteristics of the Prelude have changed over the years, but what has remained the same is its sportiness and specialty. When you think of a sports car, you think of something sharp, like an F1 or a fighter jet. However, I think the theme of this model is closer to the image of a glider that glides through the air with a sense of freedom."

Powertrain and specification

The Prelude Limited Edition retains Honda's e:HEV hybrid architecture paired with Honda S+ Shift technology. The system is built around a 2.0-litre petrol engine, an electric traction motor, a generator motor and a small lithium-ion battery. Honda states a combined system output of 200 hp (203 ps). Honda S+ Shift is intended to make the hybrid powertrain feel and sound more like a conventional setup despite the absence of a stepped transmission.

Honda has not announced pricing; the company said that pricing information will be released at a later date.
