An X user flagged an unusual capability on Huawei's newest flagship and the company's own specifications page confirms it: the Mate 90 Pro Max can hold multiple SIM profiles and operate three at once under specific conditions.
The phone supports two physical SIM cards and two eSIMs, but Huawei says users can have two physical SIMs and one eSIM active simultaneously. Huawei also notes that two of the three active connections must be with the same Chinese carrier.

The Mate 90 Pro Max can keep two physical SIMs and one eSIM active at the same time, subject to a carrier restriction in China.
The device was introduced in China as part of the Mate 90 series, which includes the Mate 90, Mate 90 Pro, and Mate 90 RS. The multiply provisioned SIM configuration was called out on social media and on Huawei's official product page for the Mate 90 Pro Max.
Hardware and battery
Huawei equips the model with a Kirin 9050 Pro chipset, a 6.9-inch display and a triple rear camera array. The phone also packs a 6,800mAh battery.
