Huawei's new, unusually wide Pura X View has posted robust early sales in China, moving about 449,800 units in roughly one month, according to a blogger who tracks the domestic phone market. The figure highlights strong demand, but the phone remains hard to find for many buyers.

Supply constraints are evident across retailers. Some sellers are listing the Pura X View at a 500 to 1,000 yuan premium over official prices, and Huawei's own store shows new orders with delivery dates no earlier than 19 November (28 Aban). The phone's black finish is already out of stock.

Design, display and hardware

The Pura X View's most distinctive feature is its wide-screen presentation. The handset uses a flat 6.39-inch OLED with a resolution of 2232 by 1320 and an atypical 16:9.5 aspect ratio, producing a wider feel than the taller displays common on many phones. Bezels measure an equal 1.05 millimetres on all four sides, and the screen-to-body ratio is 96.1 percent.

The panel supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, high-frequency PWM dimming at 2160 Hz, and a reported peak local brightness of 6,500 nits. Huawei protects the display with Kunlun glass.

Under the hood, the Pura X View ships with a Kirin 9030S chipset and a vapor chamber cooling solution with an area of 6,400 mm squared.

Huawei price tiers begin at 5,999 yuan (about $896) for the 12 GB / 256 GB model, rise to 6,999 yuan (about $1,045) for 12 GB / 512 GB, and reach 8,499 yuan (about $1,270) for the 12 GB / 1 TB configuration.

The combination of a distinctive form factor, flagship-level specifications and constrained availability has kept demand for the Pura X View high even weeks after its launch.
