Huawei’s Mate 90 Pro Max has appeared in a Geekbench 7 run, revealing the performance profile of the company’s new Kirin 9050 Pro chip. Huawei introduced four Mate 90 series models in China, with the Pro Max and RS variants using the Kirin 9050 Pro, though the company’s launch materials offered few technical details.

Benchmarks and what they mean
The Mate 90 Pro Max (CMM-AL10) posted an average score of 1,317 single-core points and 5,381 multi-core points on Geekbench 7. The highest recorded run at the time of writing reached 1,528 single-core points and 6,169 multi-core points. Geekbench’s single-core metric measures performance of an individual CPU core and the multi-core metric reflects combined performance across cores. These results place the Kirin 9050 Pro’s CPU performance between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, according to the observed scores.

Geekbench’s listing also details the Kirin 9050 Pro’s core layout. The SoC shows a nine-core CPU with a Prime "ultra" core clocked at 3.1 GHz, supported by six performance cores running at 2.7 GHz and 2.2 GHz, and two efficiency cores at 1.75 GHz. The test entry lists a Maleoon 955 GPU with six cores clocked at 1.05 GHz.
A report from Bernstein Research adds a fabrication detail, saying the Kirin 9050 Pro is produced on a 7nm class process node using SMIC’s N+2 or N+3 process technology. That manufacturing attribution is reported by Bernstein Research and is not confirmed by Huawei.
