Spotify announced it will expand audiobooks to more than 180 markets by the end of 2026, a substantial increase from the 22 markets where audiobooks are currently accessible.
The expansion would make audiobooks available to Spotify's 750 million users worldwide, who could stream or purchase books on the service. Listeners in new markets would gain access to more than 350,000 titles in over 120 languages, with newly added catalogs in Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Polish.
Spotify says its partnerships with authors will be non-exclusive. In the new markets, users will be able to access audiobooks in three ways: audiobooks included in the Premium plan, Audiobooks+, and direct sales.

In November, users on a Student plan in Ireland, Belgium, Austria, and Finland will be able to add additional listening hours using Audiobooks+. Spotify reports that Audiobooks+ has more than one million subscribers and has exceeded $100 million in annual recurring revenue.
Page Match and locating your place
In February, Spotify introduced a feature called Page Match, which more than one million readers have used to move between print or e-book and audio, letting them start in one format and continue in another. Spotify has announced an update that adds support for page numbers, allowing users to "simply scan the book’s ISBN barcode and use page numbers to find your place."
Spotify also published a map showing the markets where audiobooks will be available by the end of 2026.
