2027 Chevrolet Trax facelift revealed in new renderings

Renderings based on recent uncamoed spy photos show the facelifted Chevrolet Trax adopting revised front and rear fascias, most noticeably wider taillights and refreshed lighting signatures.

The illustrations, signed by Nikita Chuyko and shared by Kolesa, depict a mid-cycle update rather than a new generation. The visible changes center on the bumper and lighting — new headlight clusters and DRLs up front, altered upper and lower grille patterns and a subtler splitter — while the hood, front fenders and overall profile appear carried over from the current car.

Exterior details

Close examination of the digital images, which build directly on the spy shots captured recently, shows the Trax retaining its current doors, windows, mirrors and wheel-arch trim. The example in the renderings uses wheel designs taken from the prototype seen in the photos. At the rear Chevrolet has given the crossover wider taillights, a cleaner bumper treatment and a tweaked tailgate to integrate the new lamp graphics.

Interior, powertrain and timing

Photographers were unable to photograph the interior, but the refresh is expected to include modest cabin updates: a new digital instrument cluster with a tablet-like aesthetic to match the infotainment screen, a revised steering wheel, a reworked center console, updated trim and upholstery options, and incremental tech and safety upgrades. These interior changes remain speculative until Chevrolet publishes official details.

Powertrain information has not been released. The current Trax uses a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine rated at 137 hp (139 ps/102 kW) at 5,000 rpm and 162 lb-ft (220 Nm) of torque at 2,500 rpm, driving the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. In China the model is offered with a 1.5-liter turbofour. The Trax is produced in South Korea and China and is front-wheel drive only.

Chevrolet has not announced an unveiling date. The present-generation Trax entered production in the first quarter of 2023 and is sold as a 2026 model in some markets, so the refreshed car is widely expected to be marketed as a 2027 model and arrive at dealers within months. A modest price increase compared with the outgoing model is possible but unconfirmed.

The current 2026 Trax pricing on Chevrolet’s local website lists the LS from $21,700, the LT from $23,200, the 2RS from $25,400 and the Activ from $25,400. These are manufacturer’s suggested retail prices and exclude destination freight, title, tax, license, dealer fees and options.

The Trax is built on GM’s VSS-F platform, sharing architecture with the Trailblazer, Montana and several Buick models. Overall dimensions for the modern Trax are 178.6 inches (4,537 mm) in length, 71.8 inches (1,823 mm) in width, 61.4 inches (1,560 mm) in height, with a 106.3-inch (2,700 mm) wheelbase and a curb weight of just under 3,100 pounds (~1,400 kg).

Renderings and the recent spy photos suggest a conservative mid-cycle refresh focused on styling and interior refinements rather than mechanical change.
