The 2027 Toyota Grand Highlander adds a Woodland Edition to the Hybrid range, bringing standard all-terrain tires and an increase in ground clearance of half an inch to the family three-row SUV. Toyota Motor North America reported the change while publishing September 2026 and third-quarter sales figures.

Toyota Motor North America said total deliveries for September 2026 rose more than eight percent to 201,306 vehicles across the Toyota and Lexus brands, and third-quarter deliveries reached 633,223 units, up 0.6 percent year over year. Toyota brand deliveries specifically were 171,469 in September, with 540,167 units for the quarter. The Grand Highlander itself posted gains of 6.1 percent in September to 11,594 units and was up 8.7 percent in the third quarter to 108,511 units.

The Woodland Edition joins the Hybrid lineup and outfits the Grand Highlander with a more rugged look and utility, including all-terrain tires, a removable cooler for second-row use, all-weather floor mats, and a cargo tray with pop-up dividers.

The Woodland Edition adds matte black 18-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lamps, black exterior trim and accents, a Woodland-branded removable console that doubles as a cooler for second-row occupants, and a 120V/1500W power outlet in the second row. Toyota says the model also includes a half-inch lift to increase ground clearance and a set of all-terrain tires as standard equipment.

Powertrains, trims and availability

The Grand Highlander remains a three-row SUV offered with three powertrains and both front- and all-wheel drive. Toyota lists a 2.4-liter turbo gas option, a conventional Hybrid, and the performance-oriented Hybrid Max. Gas models are offered in LE, XLE, Limited, and Platinum grades; the Hybrid is available as LE, XLE, the new Woodland Edition, and Limited; and the Hybrid Max is available only in Platinum trim. Toyota confirmed the Hybrid Nightshade Edition and the Hybrid Max Limited will not be available for 2027.

Output figures are unchanged: the gas 2.4-liter turbo is rated at 265 hp, the Hybrid system produces a combined 245 hp, and the Hybrid Max delivers a combined 362 hp.

Production remains exclusive to Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana in Princeton. Toyota said 2027 model year Grand Highlanders will arrive at dealers later this year with MSRPs starting at $42,560 for the LE with front-wheel drive, $45,910 for the Hybrid LE, and the Hybrid Max only available as a Platinum from $60,475, all prices excluding Dealer Processing and Handling fees.

Other model-year updates include blacked exterior details on the Hybrid Max such as grille mesh, hood trim, roof rails, window trim and mirror caps, plus a shark fin antenna. The gas Platinum receives a new alloy wheel design, and XLE gas and hybrid models gain a standard heated steering wheel and 18-inch dark gray painted wheels.
