Still, the S12 aims to be the pick for anyone who wants premium display quality in a more portable frame.

A more budget-friendly option appears as the Iconia Duo D12. Same 12.2-inch footprint but with an LCD panel at 2,400 by 1,600 pixels. The chipset is a MediaTek Helio G99, and Acer pairs it with 8GB of RAM and the same 8,000 mAh battery found in the S12. Think of the D12 as the practical alternative: fewer bells, many of the essentials preserved.
