iPhone 18e Leak: 60Hz Display and Single Rear Camera

A Gizmochina report on October 27, 2026 citing Digital Chat Station says the iPhone 18e will use a 6.12-inch 60Hz LTPS OLED, a 2nm A20 chip, a single 48MP rear camera and may arrive in spring 2027.

Gizmochina published a new report on October 27, 2026 that reiterates an earlier tip: the iPhone 18e will retain a 60Hz display and a single rear camera, even as higher-end 2027 models move to faster screens.

Digital Chat Station, the leaker behind a June report that first listed the cheaper model at 6.12 inches with an LTPS panel, now repeats the 6.12-inch 60Hz LTPS OLED claim. According to the tipster, the iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 are expected to use 120Hz LTPO displays, leaving the 18e on the lower-refresh panel.

What the leak says

The leak fills in more hardware details. Apple is said to equip the iPhone 18e with an A20 chip built on a 2 nanometer process, an upgrade from the A19 chip built on 3 nanometers that powered the iPhone 17e. The iPhone 17e launched in March priced at $599 with 256GB of base storage. The new model’s screen grows only slightly from the iPhone 17e’s 6.1-inch panel to the reported 6.12-inch size.

Camera specifications look modest. The iPhone 18e is reported to retain a single 48 megapixel rear camera like the 17e, while the front camera may be upgraded to 24 megapixels. The leaker expects the iPhone 18e to arrive in 2027, a timeline that matches a previous report suggesting a spring 2027 launch separate from the iPhone 18 Pro models and a foldable iPhone Duo.

The apparent trade off is clear: a newer, smaller-node chip and a possible selfie improvement at the cost of the smoother 120Hz experience that higher-tier models will offer. Apple kept a 60Hz screen on the iPhone 17e as well, and this leak suggests the company may follow the same strategy for the next entry-level model.

Apple has not announced the iPhone 18e and these details remain unconfirmed; the leak also does not include pricing information.
