Samsung's internal testing reportedly shows the Exynos 2700 delivering a 20 percent advantage in multi-core CPU throughput and a 20 percent lead in GPU workloads versus Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, according to a recent Korean report and earlier coverage by Wccftech.
The report attributes the gap in part to Qualcomm's move to TSMC's 2nm node and to the new Offset PoP packaging, which the outlet says did not improve Qualcomm's standing in these internal comparisons.
Benchmarks and unspecified test details
The Korean outlet that published the numbers said the Exynos 2700 beat the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in a Geekbench 6.5 run and recorded a 15 percent advantage in Geekbench 7. The same story lists a 20 percent GPU lead but does not identify a specific GPU benchmark. In a separate gaming comparison reported by the outlet, the Exynos 2700 was about 5 percent faster, though no game title was named for that result.

The report reiterates prior internal claims from Samsung that Qualcomm's flagship experienced thermal throttling and overheating in those internal tests. Outside of Samsung's figures, independent testing has so far painted a different picture for the Qualcomm chipset.
Thermals and packaging
Independent tests referenced in prior coverage indicate the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6's Offset PoP packaging takes twice as long to reach the maximum temperature threshold compared with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a result presented as evidence of materially upgraded sustained performance for Qualcomm's SoC. The independent tests are not identified by name in the publicly cited accounts.
This is the second occasion on which Samsung's internal benchmarks have been presented as showing the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 underperforming. If external, independent benchmarks do not reproduce the reported 20 percent multi-core gap, those internal results will remain without third-party confirmation. The Korean report and the earlier Wccftech piece do not supply specific GPU benchmark names or game titles used in the comparisons.
Wccftech reporter Omar Sohail is credited with prior reporting on these internal tests and on the semiconductor supply-chain context that accompanies Samsung's chip development claims.
